I own the first two on DVD and theyre really cool. They have 4 discs each and really cool art that goes with it

I really like two towers extended much more, but the first is still real good. Have fun!

I just watched those and the 2nd Hobbit extended over this past year, they were all great

I watched lord of the rings late and when I did i watched the extended. I enjoyed it. Never seen the original cut though.

Can't imagine it really adds anything, other than maybe some continuity stuff.

Been forever since I saw LotR. If I do rewatch Fellowship, I guess I could do the EE... if it's not like an hour longer or something.

It's pretty close to that. Combined, all three extended editions add 2:05 to the trilogy. Extended RotK is 4:11, which is massive but does actually add a lot to the movie.
