This is why I don't mind Trump running. If Trump disappeared, the entire party would easily get behind DeSantis. But Trump being there splits alot of their party, which is honestly good for the country if they destroy each other.

I have alot of right wing family and friends, and theres 2 types - The republicans and the Trumpers. The republicans tend to be normal people who have issues that they feel strongly about and will always support the right wing candidate. They will admit their party's faults but they've made their decision. The Trumpers believe their candidate is flawless and think he's the greatest gift to mankind. You can't even talk to these people.

Republicans were 100% in support of his rudeness, vengefulness, paranoia, and lack of civility for years.

The crazy relatives in my FB feed who I always would have classified pretty easily as Trumpers have all seemed to switch pretty quickly over to DeSantis.

They loved him because they were benefitting from his crass chuddery now the rest of the country is sick of that obvious evil impacting their lives and eager to do more and rejecting it, make no mistake, the moment Trump lands a victory they'll come crawling back especially if he manages to take the nomination from Desatan

Bingo. I suspect Trumps support will continue to wane, and all itll really take will be another few horrible stunts for DeSantis to pull to sway those who are the most difficult to shake.

The split in the party has been there before Trump. The left as we all know LOVES John songbird McCain I am old enough to remember when they defended McCain over Obama during the Republican primaries. Im old enough to remember when the media backed everything John McCain did because he was a RINO.

Then comes Election Day. Safe Republican districts no one comes out to vote for him and Obama wins in a landslide. State that always went Republican were not even a toss up because no one came out to vote.

What Trump is most likely going to do to this election is the same thing that Teddy Roosevelt did which was split the party where for the first time in a generation a Democrat would win back to back since the Democratic Party was the party of treason but Teddy split the vote when he broke off and now we have the Federal Income Tax and other issues like foreigners being able to come here and get birthright citizenship in what most people call a anchor baby.

A lot changed during this time including the end of isolationism and demand to get more involved in things outside our borders. Also lets not forget the FED.

DeSantis though may not seem like he's of the establishment takes money from the Mercers and Wilks.

Trump when he was president did not support any of his supporters on his way out of anything he pardoned Democrat criminals and Israeli spies.

Whats going to happen this election? I have no idea as Trump left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths but yeah there is a divide.
