Dave Chappelle isn't posting documentaries claiming trans people are evil beings that secretly run the world and telling the world he is going death con on them.

He talks about genuine hatred against the black community and other marginalized communities in his specials, including the LGBT community. There is no perfect age of consent.

You will never find it.

Because maturity isn't correlated with age. There are grown ass adults that get manipulated, exploited and abused (sexually or otherwise) that are well into their 30s, 40s, or even older. There is no magical number.

The only thing that should be considered is, does an age gap warrant sexual interactions being made illegal by the government in charge? And honestly, in this case, the government can stay the fuck out of people's business.

So long as actual children and high school age students aren't being exploited by degenerate pedophiles, we should let people who are fully, legally capable of being considered an adult, sleep with other people. If the younger person feels they are being manipulated or, even long after the fact, was manipulated, then they should maintain the ability to address their concerns with said person. Either by hashing out how it was wrong, or cutting said person off, or venting online or whatever.

Quit trying to punish new adults for having fun with adults. Let adults make mistakes. Let them fuck up. Quit trying to helicopter parent grown ass adults because "oh honey, you're not ready for the world, you'll get exploited!"

these relationships are always inherently unfair and unbalanced - after a certain age, many years beyond 18, people generally do not change very much. you have one person who has barely begun to discover their own identity, being guided by someone much older into being the person they want them to be. so often these relationships are toxic because of that inescapable power imbalance.

obviously i understand by now how passionate many people on this board are about age gap relationships. it doesn't surprise me given the demographic. but i would like to be at least one voice saying, this really isn't okay. the people speaking out about it aren't crazy. it's the direction we're moving in as a society and it's based on science and compassion.

My priority is keeping the government out of peoples business in this regards.

At what point does it end? Only 2 people of X age gap can sleep with each other? Only 2 people that the government deems fit can sleep together with council approval? What do we do when the government inevitably deems same-sex relations illegal? Or not even illegal but just never gives its approval because religious bigots find it detestable and have infiltrated the approval process?

Where does it end? Because if you keep giving the government the power to dictate peoples personal lives, the more it will.

My intention is not to sleep with teenagers. Hell, I've never even slept with anyone. I personally don't much care about having sex. But I'm not going to sit on the sidelines and let people who do want to sleep with other people be dictated who they can and can't when the other person is legally an adult.

Who cares if fully grown woman agree. That doesnt change the fact that younger women still have minds of there own. Who they want to have sex with is none of your business, nor is it the business of those fully grown women

And like wackyteen said, there really isnt a perfect age. What you think is perfect isnt necessarily what other people think is perfect. Right now, we already have laws. And they seem to work fine as is Just because you dont like the law doesnt mean its bad. It just means you dont like it
