Bam, scout just spawns from the grass and ruins your whole last 10 minutes of fucking dominating the enemy so hard it'd be a war crime irl

Fun game.

Seeing a couple of playable characters from one of my all time favourite RPGs was pretty fucking awesome the first time I played it. I didn't know they were going to be in it, so it was a pretty big "holy shit" moment for me.

IIRC, the game was about 90% rushing your scouts to take the objective first or second turn.

Yeah, and it's why when you're forced into base defense, the flaws of the game shine hard.

Also doesn't help the computer knows the FOV of your units and will blatantly exploit not tripping your intercepting fire

Before I looked at the trailer earlier today, I couldn't have told you a single characters name.

All I could remember was flashes of memories of some maps.

Yeah, I never understood the hate for VC4. The second game was different enough to piss people off and the third game was never even translated to English. The fourth game was a return to what the fans seemed to want, and they didnt make it insanely different, so I didnt get why people hate on it.

It's a little... Too samey.

Which isn't an outright bad thing but at the same time, sequels should generally expand on original concepts outright.

I played 2 on release. Loved it, up until the post game stuff. Ain't nobody got time for that
