the Raiders are also reportedly kind of cash poor so Davis might not be able to afford to fire McDaniels literally because then they'd be paying three coaches simultaneously

It's almost like they gave a coach a $100 million contr... oh wait.

I don't think packers make the playoffs. They got games at Miami, at Philadelphia, and a home game with Minnesota who's going to be fighting for the 1-seed. They might win Thursday's game with Tennessee due to momentum, but they probably also drop at least one game they should win (to the Bears or the Lions again).

The Falcons have the same record and an easier schedule. Yes, the Falcons are totally frauds but the packers put themselves in a hole.

They don't, but they run away with 8th.

It's that loss to the Giants that dooms them. The Giants can collapse, but the Packers just can't pass them.

Yeah, the Packers are in a tough spot because it's practically impossible for them to win their division now, and the NFC East is looking likely to get 3 playoff teams this year, leaving only one spot left for everyone else. I don't think they can beat out whoever doesn't win the NFC West between San Francisco and Seattle unless one of them really drops off in the second half of the season.

I have the Giants getting the 7 seed easily if they even go 9-8. The Packers are not passing the Giants almost no matter what.

They'd need Seattle to completely implode and leave the door open, and Washington to stay around where they are. Washington winning this game would be devastating for the Packers though.

Falcons are even more done than the Packers. Tampa is going to run away with that division and the Falcons ever holding a playoff spot will be a distant memory.

I think the Packers can get in if they win Thursday night. They'll need to take all their most winnable games (3 divisional + Rams) and then 1 against either Philly or Miami (most likely Philly).

Not highly likely, but still very possible.

I have them winning on Thursday and still being out rather easily. Giants at 9-8 and Packers at 8-9 in 8th having also lost to the Giants. Packers probably need to get to 10 wins to sniff at the playoffs unless we have some serious collapses.

Yeah, I don't see them getting in at 9-8 either which is why I said they need to win the 5 they are/should be favored in plus one upset. Obviously, if they drop Thursday night, I don't see them winning out and making it though.

I think the Titans match up well with the Packers. The weakness of the Titans defense is the pass, but the run defense is solid. Green Bay's new strategy is using the run to set up the pass, which I'm not sure will work.

Either way, they're going to be playing this game exactly the way Tennessee wants: Low scoring, plodding, and run heavy.

It's so frustrating that we have replay but a play like this where there's a clear facemask just has to be ignored and the play ruled a fumble and turnover.

I feel like certain penalties aren't really judgment calls and should be a thing that can be corrected here.

I feel like I say this every year, but the officiating feels extra bad this year, or at least in the last couple of weeks.

Huge missed call that should be obvious.

Yeah, Packers' hopes are riding on it being a short week with homefield advantage and facing a banged up Titans team. If the circumstances were better for Tennessee, I wouldn't like our chances, but I see it as closer to a coin flip with the slightest edge to Green Bay.

And wow, these refs are absolutely killing the home team tonight.

The refs are such giant babies that when they did have a call that was reviewable (PI) they just straight up refused to call it on replay no matter how egregiously wrong it was initially.

Yeah, facemask should be reviewable, but the referees were just such absolute babies about making pass interference reviewable for one season that stuff like this will never become reviewable.

That's why I specified "not judgment calls." Because they showed how they'd react to that with PI.

But like, a lot of penalties are just like... objectively determinable. Like ineligible man downfield for example, just look at where everyone is lol. And you'd think facemask would be there too.
