For those of you who recall, this is a project I started many years ago. I stopped after completing Spirit of Justice because I dreaded the prospect of Layton vs. Ace Attorney (for good reason). The release of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles last year got me to pick this up again, and now after completing Layton/AA, it's finished (until Ace Attorney 7 anyway). I also have some Time Stats left to do. The only thing I'm missing there is a replay of the GAA games, but it's hard to get dedicated time to sit down and time my playthroughs with a 6 month old baby, so who knows when I'll get around to that. Perhaps an AA7 announcement would get me into gear...!

I won't post everything in here since that Google Doc is now 67 pages long, but a few highlights for those who don't want to look through the whole thing:

the sad thing is that this isn't even all the possible lines because I didn't bother trying to get all the unique "wrong answer" dialogue since I didn't want to keep having to reset constantly

Very nice. Crazy how 6-5 has the most lines despite having only one trial day.

Most shocking thing about this to me is that AA6's cases line up pretty well with the rest of the games. They all felt insanely long-winded to me but I guess it wasn't in terms of actual text.

I didn't break 6-5 into two parts, so it's two trial days.

Yeah, in terms of time, the SoJ cases are longer, but they aren't that much more text-heavy for whatever the reason. It could be because the animations in the later games are longer, or because investigations are streamlined and there's less banter.

This is the kind of crazy data hoarding that I love.

Phoenix actually has less comparative lines than I would have expected.

Not sure I understand....!

Also it's very surprising to me because it felt like that game dragged on forever
So to see it somehow has the lowest amount of lines is pretty much...what

It's not the amount of lines. It's the format of the game.

4-3 - 4494

More reasons this is the worst case in the series. It sucks AND it drags on for forever. Imagine if you could somehow factor the amount of times you have to watch The Video as well. 4-4 barely edges it out once you include 4-0, too, which is beyond ridiculous for such a stupid case.

Yeah, I think one of the most surprising things with my line counts is how absurdly long 4-3 is. I wouldn't have guessed that.

almost certainly - it's awesome replaying early games with how snappy the animations are

aa6 also has longer single days. 6-2 is a one day case longer than 1-3 and 90% the length of 2-2.
