Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker.


I forget if this fits into the new Canon but Anakin wanted the rank of Master so he could access restricted Holocrons/Archives that might have had knowledge that would save Padme's life.

I don't think it'd have fit into the movie due to time considerations, but I think his choice would've been more tragic if he had looked through the Archives and found nothing and Padme's health had visibly taken a turn for the worse in the last time they met prior to Mustafar. Force his hand so to speak.

Imo the council shouldn't have place Anakin under Obi-Wan's care. Guy was just a padawan when he saw his master killed, he wouldn't be in a proper mental & emotional state to train him.

Maybe hed have been tempted, though he may have been more likely to remain loyal in the crucial moment where he attacks Mace Windu if the council hadnt clearly treated him with contempt and condescension.

No. They shouldnt have taken him on as a Jedi in the first place. Literally nothing changed between early Phantom Menace when they told Qui Gon no and late Phantom Menace when they agreed to train him.
