black coffee? natural sweetness of the beans? rubbish. give me 100% full cream milk, no water, a bit of expresso for flavouring and 4 spoons of sugar. its not even worth drinking otherwise

I prefer it black with no sugar. The sugar makes it a bit too much and I struggle to get through the whole thing.

But then I don't have a particularly sweet tooth in general, which is probably why (I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate too). I was an absolute sugar fiend as a kid, but that changed when I was in my teens for some reason.

I cut out a lot of sugar from other places but still need it in my coffee

Milk and sugar back in the cowboy era was a luxury so you had to be tough to drink it so I would say yes.

That's pretty much how I used to drink it, until I realized I was putting so much into it that it was barely recognizable as coffee. I just gave up on coffee altogether and went back to soda for my caffeine fix.

In the wild, probably not. There are certain things that wouldn't even be edible without humans trying really, really, hard. I'm pretty sure some of the plant is poisonous, too iirc?

In the modern day, yes though. Coffee (Caffeine) burns calories, can help prevent heart disease and fit well into a healthy diet even. If it's too bitter, just add what you want. A lot of people don't very much enjoy yea without sugar or milk either.

I've been drinking coffee without sugar for years, I don't like sugar in my hot drinks, too sickly imo

On the contrary, coffee is a fruit-producing bush that makes edible cherry-like berries that are sweet and also contain caffeine. C. Arabica was native to the highlands of what are now Ethiopia and Sudan, and the plants were undoubtedly first utilized for the fruit: the beans came later.

If you're using 4 sugars for your coffee maybe just eat a coffee candy bar instead.

You might consider trying freshly roasted beans that you grind at brewing.

A lot of the bad taste of coffee comes from the coffee being stale.

you can enjoy your coffee whatever you like.
but it goes both ways, other people also allowed to enjoy their coffee the way they like, including black without sugar.

Not everyone is as macho as you. People are free to drink it however they want.

I drank black coffee as a pre-workout first a while. That said, cream and sugar are my preference, but I could do just cream as well.

There is no wrong way to enjoy coffee. Remove your snobbish elitism and let all enjoy its greatness.
