All this Kyrie Irving stuff. It's just something that I've noticed as a non-American over the years. Any time it's racism against Jewish people, it's specifically referred to as anti-Semitism rather than racism, and seems to be so much worse in America than racism to other groups.

Because oddly in the words of Kanye West...people don't care about black people. We down play slavery in America and the years of black codes and Jim Crow that came after. For example here we have people listing World War 2. As if America's hand are not just as bloody.

Its a complicated question with a lot of answers but a big and overly broad one to it is that one of the few bipartisan policies in this country is our support for Israel. so there a lot less tug of war in politics and the media over it compared to other long enshrined forms of racism here

Yes but the question is why Americans get so touchy about this, because in Australia it's no different to racism against Aboriginal people or Asian people (the predominant racism in this country). And I haven't seen any other countries get so upset or shocked at racism against Jewish people as America. Not even Israel.

Caring about that but not about any other racism is a common symptom of Christianity, which just so happens to be especially common in America. This applies not only to recognizing it but ignoring others; but also to the "any criticism of Israel is anti-semitism no matter how valid and/or unrelated to race/religion" attitude.

Historically Jewish people have been blamed, mass murdered, and attacked for everything. Typically the idea is the longer/more that the people have suffered, the less anyone should go back to that place now(not learning from multiple takes in history that this is wrong, including some of humanity's most screwed up moments)

However racism in all degrees is definitely something worthy of being just as worry of and understanding how things have happened. America just isn't there yet for some reason.

I can't speak for US politics but this kind of phenomenon took over british politics in the late 2010s. Like there was a near decade long inquiry into the labour party being anti-Semitic and it just completely overwhelmed nearly everything, and at the end of it they concluded that the labour party was...no better or worse than any other party, but at least they were hamfistedly trying to do something about it?

The interesting thing was how easily this was wielded as a political weapon. I mean we had hard documented evidence of leading tory MPs being racist, misogynistic, transphobic, homophobic. Like actual things they proudly said in public. But as long as there were rumours of some labour people saying something anti-Semitic behind closed doors (it was never really clear what) it was the only talking point in british politics for a period of about 3 years.

After WW2 it just became very, very very taboo in America. Optimists will say it's because our grandparents saw with their own eyes the effects the Holocaust. Pessimists will say because Israel and its continued existence is a big part of American hegemony and our foreign policy goals in the Middle East (though saying so at all is also considered to be VERY taboo).

It's probably a little bit of both, though.

I feel people who ask this are also the type to go, why are they trying to cancel Kanye for saying his opinion, while taking out the context that he was going to go "deathcon 3 on all Jewish people".

Racism against black people are also noticed very quickly in the US, and for good reason, since they're still the biggest targets by people in power. I think that's also an answer to the topic. Black and jewish people are still bigger targets in the US so they're logically a bigger priority There's also the fact that there's more black and jewish people in the states than other minorities so there are more people impacted.
That said, of course racism against other minorities should still be noticed. There's certainly an uncomfortable amount of people who are openly vocal against discrimination against the biggest targets but ignore or even perpetuate smaller scale racism against other minorities themselves.

This is correct in terms of how bad it actually is; but the question being posed is why it's treated as worse / more widely recognized as bad.

I think it's the boldness and organized manner with which people are expressing their anti-semitism and the number of people that are doing it that is highly concerning. If anything, I'd say it is happening to other populations in the same way, but Jewish people have a larger influence on society than some others which are attacked such as trans people or hispanic immigrants.

That is my answer. Were you not alive when George Floyd got murdered by the cops and there was a big fucking movement regarding it?

Also you're missing the context to why Kanye spewing Anti-Semeticism is getting such a large response, because he literally threatened a whole group of people with violence and he's a very well known ex-billionaire influencer that currently has a lot of power and sway towards others. What he says absolutely makes a difference in shaping people's opnions and actions towards others.
