Anyone wanna talk Othello?

I recently became interested in Othello after watching that Anthony Hopkins version, and I went as far as to read the script for the play, (which is almost word for word the BBC version, and very good) and as far as to watch the Orson Welles version as well.

Ive made some notes. What Im lacking a lot of is knowledge of stageplay, production staples, undercurrents typical of modern Othello vs traditional Othello, etc, or firsthand knowledge, since Ive mostly been reading Wikipedia articles and the like, and comparing and contrasting them against my memory, as well as the written play itself, and the movie things. Some articles on the net too, and some research into the history of the whole thing. The Moors, the original Moorish Captain play, and so on and so forth. On the low key seems rather powerful, seminal, and somehow relevant on so many fronts. Im even wondering if I am interested in Othello, or Shakespeare in general, or something else.

hm

I wonder if Othello would be good for CE, or me
