Jeff said on his podcast this week that while he was struggling for a reason to stay at Giant Bomb, he was fired.

Crazy, explains why there literally wasnt a goodbye compared to everyone else.

Probably gave Kane & Lynch 2 a bad review

Yes, because he was quitting. It's pretty common in corporations to fire people who ask to quit.

Pretty much dropped Nextlander at this point except for when I occasionally see them on YouTube playing or reacting to something I'm interested in

Pretty much dropped Nextlander at this point except for when I occasionally see them on YouTube playing or reacting to something I'm interested in

I listen to Nextlander and Jeff every week. I dont watch any of them, and I dont interact with any GB content anymore, which is sad.

If they put their Podcast up on YouTube like Jeff does I'd go and listen to it but it's too much of a hassle for me to track it down otherwise

I do support Jeff's patreon though because Game Boyz II Men actual best content

GB is still pretty solid.

• Dan can be great but at the same time super fucking annoying, like when hes completely off topic into his psychosis while a game is being played.
• Grubb is a great addition; lots of rally good energy and plays well off the rest of the staff
• Jan is still a low key MVP.
• Jess is good because shes got a different background than the rest. More intellectual. Self aware, sometimes to her own detriment.
• Jeff Bhes good as the straight man/host but not who I come to GB for. And I say that as someone whos been listening to him for 15+ years on various podcasts.

Dan playing Sonic 06 has been top content

especially since it seems like it's going to spinoff into a weekly thursday show of just playing bad games

and on the flip side I've been finding the Eternal Darkness content to be kinda boring because the focus is almost never the game itself, just whatever dumb fake sanity effects Dan and Grubb can come up with for Bakalar

HARD agree! Its infuriating! Im trying to enjoy the game and they just wont stop with the fucking sound boards and voice modulation. Like, holy fucking Christ, please tone it down a bit! Its even gotten to Jeff some, and not in a good way.

I will never understand how (and this is going back for years of content) how people always want to go completely off topic as soon as the story heavy parts start.

The way everything is splintered now is a real bummer though. Im keeping up with GB the most, Nextlander when they do an FMV or something else specifically interesting, and Jeff not at all. And I love Jeff!

I wish it was whatever year Burgle my Bananas happened forever. (Or back as far as right before Ryan died, but resurrecting a dead man is a bigger ask than getting living dudes together)

Yeah I thought I would love solo Jeff content since the streams of him playing old games were some of my favorites back in the day. But I haven't watched anything past the very first episode of his podcast.

There arent any bits, but sometimes you just want to hear the most knowledgeable guy in games talk about games.

He had Dave Snider on recently too, and its nice to hear from him.

If theres one thing I hate more than anything about the current state of the internet, its content-free content creators. Bless Jeffs heart.

I just cant do most solo content. Its still GB then Nextlander then anything else when it comes to video content.

Ive got a 3+ month podcast backlog because of all the splits over the years. GB and Nextlander and Waypoint and Fire Escape is already too much. I simply cant add Gerstmann to that.

Arcade Pit, Friday Night Forking, and Dan Plays Sonic '06 are the best content that GB has put out since pre-pandemic... and two of those things aren't even theirs!

I love them introducing me to new things that scratch that itch I have to be a kid again.

oh and of course the in person live show but that's kind of cheating
