Another day, another delicious breakfast.
How are we all doing today?

Me? Im doing fantastic, thanks for asking. Just my average morning meal as usual, and I got a nice discount too. You see, some restaurant owners have decided to raise prices on all the food, but the thing is, every restaurant in the US is 15% off for me. And to top it all off, no extra money for anyone who wasn't actually involved in the preparation of the food.

This might upset some of you, but just hear me out. Nothing makes my morning like seeing some immature and entitled worker seethe uncontrollably for not getting $5 to hand me some food. You want $5? You can negotiate a higher wage from your employer, or you can acquire some marketable skills and get a different profession, it's that simple. Automated machines are the future anyway, so you should already be doing this.

Nope. They don't remember who I am. I go out to eat like twice a month and it's rarely at the same place.

I just can't wrap my head around this idea. You want me to pay a tip for an employee who makes too much already? I'm insulted at the very thought of it. Do you realize that by helping low skilled workers make a comfortable/high salary, youre reinforcing their childish behavior and they aren't going to have any reason to pursue a career in something else? Look, you're supposed to pay for food, that's it. Who came up with this idea that I should pay someone for handing it to me? Absolutely ridiculous.

What I get mad at is when people eat at my restaurant and then tell me they've never heard of it

People here just like to get mad.

And for the most part, I think its not even genuine. They just like to get Internet Points by looking like they give a shit.

You're punishing the waiter for the system they are stuck with.

Not tipping is the completely wrong way to instigate the change you want to see in the industry. Tip properly, or don't go out to eat.

And I'm sure we all agree, the system needs to change. It's archaic and abusive.

If you want to reverse tipping culture, start your own restaurant chain where customers do not need to tip for waitstaff to get a living wage. Don't stiff the staff who need tips just because you hate the idea of tipping.

As far as the not remembering who you are. Wrong. Dead wrong. Waiters and waitresses will definitely remember you as the dead beat lowlofe non tipping piece of shit. As for whether or not theyll tell the cook to spit in your food, i cant say it doesnt happen, but it depends how petty they want to be.

Because it is the customers fault that a whole industry cant pay their employees a living wage.

If you don't tip then just stay home and eat. No one wants to see your miserable ass anyway. Your parents failed.

People should also tip for 'carry outs' to their cars in retail as well. ~Particularly so for luxury goods.

Because they're American.

And for once, this isn't "Americans have stupid opinions", it's "The way that industry is in America is really fucked up and basically relies on tips, so the perception Americans will have is very different to the perception people pretty much anywhere else will have". Most other places, tipping really is optional, and it makes sense to reserve it for particularly good service; America is not "most other places".

Tips are earned. If my waiter doesnt show any hustle, he aint getting shit extra from me.
