For story and spoiler purposes yes. For pay and such, I would assume no as that would be in violation of the law saying employees cant discuss pay? We frequently see people saying they couldnt discuss their involvement of a game or movie they were working on until the day the first trailer dropped.

Like when Ragnarok got the first trailer I saw a bunch of devs on Twitter saying something like Finally I can say Ima part of the team working on Ragnarok and such.

No. I was under one for Fallout 76 way back when (they aren't all the same of course) but it was made clear we were allowed to say we were under one but nothing beyond that.

Its funny because most gamers have fake sympathy and love to be outraged and turn on people like that.

I remember at my old job I had to sign an NDA to work on a project where I wasn't allowed to discuss the existence of the project until the purpose of the project was officially announced. This included not even being able to tell other coworkers about it.

By extension it also kind of meant not discussing the fact an NDA existed >_>

Tbh if she cared about voice actors and their wages she would say how much she was paid. Would be a baller move.

idk if thats the actual situation but Jennifer hale in this scenario is just someone who got hired for a job. It isnt even a scab scenario. Going after her is stupid, and if there actually is scumminess going on behind the scenes on the part of platinum/Nintendo its probably a welcome reprieve from the magnifying glass being it on the people actually making the decisions

Wow, is there an expiration date for it and you'll be able to talk about it? Can you at least say what kind of work it is? Like engineering, tech, etc.

It depends on the NDA, but I was in one myself and I asked my lawyer to take a look at it and no where did it say I wasn't allow to tell others that I was under a NDA. However, you cannot comment on the content of said NDA and that's where you can probably get fined/sued for. Jennifer Hale basically took the safest response possible and honestly it's for the better. She probably takes most projects that get thrown at her and probably can't vet each one if she's screwing someone over or not. Jennifer Hale is the innocent party here imo. It's really up to Platinum Games or the Dubbing company that was contracted for the dub to respond imo.

I do like that she said her record speaks for itself. I really think Jennifer Hale is a pro and it's shitty that Helena Taylor is suggesting Hale is somehow in the wrong for that shit.

Okay I looked it up and it is possible that one of the stipulations of the NDA is that you cannot mention that you entered an NDA, but it's not required.

each nda is different. read them carefully when you sign them.

yes it's incredibly common for any kind of entertainment, media, or otherwise. even presenters. even visiting a studio or office sometimes requires security and secrecy.

Depends on the situation. Some are paid a rate for how long they work, some for number of words, some flat rate. I believe Taylor said hers was flat rate. Some said that *POSSIBLE MAJOR SPOILERS*

Bayonetta dies early on, and in a Rick and Morty-esque fashion, you play as multiversal Bayonettas, which is why they offered Taylor such a paltry sum: She wouldn't be voicing too many lines. I don't think she's saying she's full of shit about her situation. It's a bit more complicated. She has even liked a Tweet that said what Platinum did to Taylor was wrong, stingy and insulting. She probably didn't know.

What she is overall saying is that don't attack the actors for decisions like this or the regular people who are working on the project. Take it up with the people in charge of these decisions and due to the NDA she can't speak about her situation and circumstances specifically.

I don't think she's happy about this situation at all. I think she's annoyed with Platinum leadership for doing what they did to Taylor to begin with and also annoyed at Taylor for being overall unprofessional over it and dragging her to the public spotlight over a situation she wasn't aware about. Even if she's sympathetic with what happened to her.

No contract can stop you from talking about how you were the victim of something illegal.

To give an absurd example, if someone pointed a gun to your head and had you sign a document that gave away all your belongings to that person, this document wouldn't hold up in court because you were under the threat of a gun.

As far as I have seen from other discussions on this topic, the standard market ratio for game VAs seem to be about 250$ per hour.

On an interview with Helena Taylor, she said one of the previous Bayonetta games were recorded in 4 sessions of 4h each, totaling 16h of work.

250*16 = 4000, so this seems about right for a fair rate, assuming that Bayonetta 3 would be recorded in about as much time as the previous games, that is.

One could argue that 250$ per hour on an extremely unstable job that gives you no security and where you have no stable income and desperately require to constantly be receiving new jobs in order to make ends meet is not really a fair ratio, but... That's neither here nor there. As far as everything I heard points to. 250$ per hour is the standard market ratio, so the offer that Taylor got used the standard ratio (again, only if we assume that Bayonetta 3 has as much dialogue as the previous games).

Basically NDAs are there to prevent the company from being liable regarding anything the NDA covers. A judge can throw it out, but I would imagine its a lengthy process. Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

If you break an NDA, its going to cost you.
