Last weekend I made it to the bottom of the elevator. I still haven't really been afraid at any point, other than a few scripted events that made me jolt in my seat a little bit. I've never really played horror games before -- not even Resident Evil or Silent Hill. But so far, this game just feels similar to other first-person adventure games I've played, such as Thief: Gold. Something tells me shit might get real at this phase in the game, though.

I'm alone in my apartment, in the dark, screen about 2 feet from my face, using studio-quality headphones. The only way I could be more immersed is with VR, I guess.

I think I can stop being so conservative with my oil and tinderboxes now at this point. lel.

So like, the game is doing a good job of what it's supposed to do. I feel danger when I'm supposed to... I can tell by visual and audio cues that I'm about to enter a place where I need to be cautious, I know I need to run when I see one of the monsters, etc. It's just that I haven't at any point been like "Eeeek, I have the heebee jeebees and u don't think I can summon the courage to go over there," which is apparently how a lot of people feel when they play this game.

Not at all. Never even played a RE or Silent Hill game.. Although there are parts of Thief: The Dark project that are pretty horror-esque. This doesn't feel much different from that.

I loved the atmosphere of that game. The mouth-full-of-fingernails sound that creeps in in the dark always get me tense.

Met this fuckface last night, and got the two doors open that are in the same room as he.

It's funny, I was actually reluctant as hell to pull the lever that was beside him, because I thought something bad might happen if I did. So I went and did everything else the game would allow me to do before I went back and pulled it.

I think I got a trophy in that game for quitting as soon as it got scary.

I have acquired Agrippa's head. I feel like I'm close to the end.

Well that was the easiest final boss I've ever encountered.

Ah, there are two endings. Nice.

In the end, I only had one moment that made me go "ACK!" out loud. It was unscripted. I was in the sewers, and one of those dudes was standing still in front of a hallway entrance I needed to enter. So I let him see me so he would chase me while I ran around the corridors back to the hallway i needed to go down. When I got to the door at the end of the hallway, I thought I had a lot of distance between him and myself, so I turned around to pick up a rock, and as soon as I turned, he was right in my face and I went "ACK!" My only audible exclamation in this run.
