Is art important? Yes. Undeniably so, but the Louvre should be tore down without hesitation if it would provide viable farmland in a crisis situation.

Believe it or not no one argued art has a higher value then life. It is still art and has a fucking right to existing and by attempting to destroy it out of a sense of duty to gain peoples attention to a cause you end up looking like the bigger asshole in the process and fucking LOSE people to it by making people think youre crazy.

art has historically been pretty much the only reason humans have lived. what makes us human? eating, sleeping, shitting, reproducing- any animal does this. to be human is to feel, express yourself, create. whether it's visual art, literature, music, we preserve these things because it's the only thing that's been worth leaving behind. what else is there? money? factories, waste, pavement, war? art's the one and only pure, innocent thing you can attribute to humanity, so why the fuck would you attack that, of all things? why not protest at a power plant with a bunch of smokestacks spewing black shit into the air, or dumping shit into the ocean? don't try and destroy and undermine the one thing that's kept mankind going from the day a caveman scratched a line on a wall with a rock

As someone who's into art history, got a degree in museum studies, and wants to get their fingers into preservation, the fact that there was a pane of glass blocking the soup is the only thing preventing me from wanting them put in front of a firing squad in Fortnite.
