According to a police report obtained exclusively by Target 11, the teacher said she was alone in her classroom at Oliver Citywide Academy on the morning of Sept. 29, when a 15-year-old student grabbed her chest. According to the report, she immediately pushed his hand away and told him not to do that.

She said he then took her to the floor and got on top of her.

She began screaming and calling for help.

He then pulled down her pants and shirt.

She said he began smashing her head off of the ground, telling her he was going to kill her if she did not shut up.

The report says she kept fighting him off until she made it into the hallway, and another teacher came to her aid, and chased the student away.

According to the report, the student told the responding officer Im sorry officer but I have urges.

The report also said the officer observed several red marks on the teachers chest, back and a bruise or laceration to the back of her head.

The student, who is now in a juvenile detention center, is facing multiple felony charges including rape.

Target 11 also obtained an internal evaluation of the student that was completed last year.

That report indicated the student was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, attention deficit disorder and an unspecified psychotic disorder.

It also suggested that hes working on a kindergarten to second grade academic level.

The report also noted as other behaviors of concern threatening peers and adults, sexually inappropriate behaviors and disrupting the classroom.

I feel like more should have been done with this kid before it got to this point. Nevermind that he's in high school but effectively has a 2nd grade education level.

I agree, frankly, releasing someone like that into general society is not worth the risk especially in a case like this where it's so flagrant. If they're willing to assault someone in a position of power like that, one can only imagine what he'd be willing to do when it's someone on equal footing, or in a lower position socially.

One of the things that turn me on is the other person wanting to also have sex with me. I think youre violently insane to want to force this against someones will and will always advocate for the harshest punishment in these cases.

There isn't. It doesn't, can't, and won't ever happen. This is coming from someone who is an outspoken proponent of prison reform. The kid doesn't deserve a second chance. I'll say it again. This child deserves to be imprisoned for the rest of his life.

Not that anyone should feel sympathetic, but the criminal effectively ruined his life. Even if he were to get the best possible therapy, psychiatry and counseling, he's (rightfully so!) going to live the rest of his life known as a sex offender and abuser. This is also completely ignoring whatever laundry list of mental issues he has to begin with.

Prison isn't where we need to send him. If he's got a psychotic disorder and is operating at a 2nd grade level, then he's best off in a psychiatric facility. Even if he will just be seated most of his waking hours so he can't do anything other than exist.

Based on this report, it's unclear that he understands any of that. He's extremely developmentally delayed with some type of disorder that has psychotic breaks from reality. The right treatment and environment and he could probably live a reasonably harm free life. But it sounds like nobody in his life has decided it's worthwhile to try.

Hopefully nobody makes excuses for the kid this time.

Like the goal of the psychiatric hospital is to help him, to try to rehabilitate him. That's something you immediately disagreed with me about.

If course, there is a possibility that rehabilitation isn't realistic in this case. But the goal should always be rehabilitation. Not immediately locking someone away into a dark hole and forgetting about them.

I'd argue that all violent offenders are mentally ill. Or had their brains fucked up in some way that made them how they are.

If you watch those prison documentaries, everyone they interview seems insane. It's not a pass to do whatever they did however.
