I vaguely remember a commercial from Sci-Fi while watching Stargate or Sliders back in the day that I think was from Lexx. Two chicks (w/ pink bob cuts? maybe they were androids??) were telling some dude to strip all the way down. Don't remember anything else -- don't even know if it's from Lexx -- but that commercial awoke something in me as a child.

Anybody know what I'm talking about, or am I just gaslighting myself?

Maybe it was similar to this commercial (are they the same characters)??

Man, this was and still is one of my fav shows. I remember that Monday night lineup of Lexx and Farscape that was when sci-fi channel was actually good. Lyekka being my fav character while wanting to throw 790 into an incinerator.

The entire series is still on Youtube, completely uncencored.....need to go watch again for the 30th time.

Lexx was almost eaten from the inside out due to Mantrid's robot hand drones, but luckily, they reversed polarity on the dragonfly engine (or whatever) and shocked everything. They didn't try to save Lyekka, so I guess she's 100% plant with no electronic functions whatsoever. At least we got the scene of Kai swinging his Scorpion spear thing like a lasso to kill drones overhead. Definitely didn't expect that.

But yeah, Lyekka is a nice presence...sort of. You'd think they'd factor her in a little more since she hangs ten feet above the bridge, but I guess she's hibernating or something. She could've been the Zhaan (Farscape chick) of the crew if given a chance. =(

Nah that's not it. I think the hairstyle is the same, but it was two women holding some man at I think gunpoint, telling him to strip, and when he does so down to his underwear they tell him to keep going.

I honestly don't know if it even was Lexx since it was so long ago, but the aesthetic of the show matches what I'm remembering and the name Lexx stands out in my head.

But yeah, no clue lol.

Zev turned into a zombie but then Kai sucked the poison (???) out and she was fine four seconds later. Kai going into random silly mode because of the planet's weird radiation was nice, though.

An incinerator isn't enough. Stanly should of thrown 790 out a hatch into space and use the Lexx to blow 790 up.

She eventually gets written off but yeah I really enjoyed her role as occasional deus ex machina. I would have liked her used more in theory but in practice it would have taken away from her specialness I think.

As soon as Lyekka shows up, you know it's going to be a "oh, she kills the bad guys" situation. It's okay, but yeah, that would get hackneyed pretty quickly, especially since they keep having to write plots where Kai keeps getting taken out of commission.

Stanley and company went to some weird dream factory and he had to kill Dream Gigaratta (???). She smoked space opium, but the most important part is the crew now knows parts of the universe are disappearing at a rapid rate. Under one month until the entire galaxy is gone. I assume this is Mantrid's doing. I wonder what those flying hands are using as propellant...

This dude with the prototype loveslave machine tricked Zev's friends into fighting some Wizard of Oz reject while he reverses her transformation and can't save her. Sad!

Huh, Zev sorta went topless again. It's like the show forgets that it did that in the first season and then relied on teasing with this go-nowhere Stanley/Zev tension. Oh well, the universe is being converted into Mantrid drones and the only possible escape into the Dark Zone (I forget what this actually entails) is going to the center of the universe and...I dunno...jumping into a black hole.

I wish there was a channel out there that had all the non star trek shows on it. Lexx, Farscape, stargate, Dr who, B5. Comet had 3 of the 5 at one point on there

I hated that part of the show. Not because it doesn't go anywhere, but that it felt so forced.

They're the only two humans onboard and they're always DTF, so it doesn't seem that forced. Maybe if Stanley didn't dress like an underpants gnome, he'd actually get somewhere.

I should check Peacock/SyFy to see what's there nowadays. That's how I watched most of the Xena stuff.

Gonna binge some tomorrow, methinks. World Series doesn't start 'til Friday.

Okay, I'm guessing Brigadoom (Brigadoon parody) is the musical episode everyone was talking about. The songs were a little simple, but they actually showed the back story of Kai's planet and some other stuff that wasn't in the first/subsequent episodes, so it was a success overall. Stanley even found a scintilla of courage to go fight Mantrid instead of ramming Lexx into the black hole at the galaxy's center...which sounds like a stupid idea NOW, so I'm not sure why an advanced civilization would think that's super awesome.

That said, the ep felt like another "let's have Kai break character" moment since people probably enjoyed the others.

This dude playing the creepy biovizier who hijacked Zev's liver was pretty good. Looking through his filmography, though, it looks like he hasn't been a main character or regular on anything -- shame.

Welp, finished the second season. Mantrid had everyone cornered, but his drones had so much mass, they made the universe collapse on itself. The Lexx was spit through a wormhole into the Dark Zone (I thought they were already there, but guess not) and everyone survived. Except Lyekka, who nobly sacrificed herself after drones roughed up her pod. =(

790 had some time to shine when he made his own drones to fight the swarms. Too bad it didn't really work out that well overall, but eh well. I wonder if he'll have the drone arm for the third season...

She literally turned into a pile of leaves when she died. Life is so fragile, lol.

Anyway, started season three. Lexx has been drifting for 900 (?) years and seemed like a comet to the first planet it swung by. Some dudes on the desert planet took Zev and Stan and want to wage war on the water planet. 790 is now in love with Kai after getting punted into a mineshaft and Kai went down to the wrong planet to rescue them. Stanley's almost going to die on a guillotine as a cliffhanger. Gee, I wonder what'll happen!

The third season happens to be my favorite. The whole Fire and Water war was good, and Prince is such an awesome guy.

Yeah, it seems this whole (?) season is going to involve these intertwined planets and their dance of death. Prince kinda gives off a Malcolm McDowell vibe and the desert world's shabbiness kinda reminds me of the cultures in Waterworld (just without the water). Should be fun, I hope.

I don't approve of kicking 790 into a mineshaft, though. Poor li'l guy. =(

Okay, time for more Lexx.

Kai just picked up this NPC chick and took her onto a hot air balloon. I dunno if I ever saw him use his Scorpion Spear thing like he's playing a crane game before. I mean, he's shown the ability to control it well enough he can do nonlethal things with it (like when he threatened Stanley under Brizon's brainwashing), but not hauling someone from place to place.

Not a horrible change or anything, just kinda interesting.

The chick Kai picked up sniped him with a crossbow bolt that went through one of those arrowslits in Prince's ship. Snoipin's a good job, mate.

Someone kicked over the protein regenerator machine in the cryobay. I suspect it's May since they didn't show who did it, but since it would only save her life, it doesn't seem like it would make sense. Maybe it's a double triple super reverse fakeout.

On a different note, there are other humans on board (not hicks this time) who were genetically altered to be moth breeders. They weren't brought up before, but it's cool that they were in a...uh...4000-year-old storage closet and still work. You could practically feel Kai roll his eyes when he told Xev they had their pointless human parts removed, suggesting they wouldn't be of use to her needs.

Hmm, it looks like May died, then came back to life after Stan had a Prince-fueled hallucination (and not the Purple Rain kind). I hope Prince's spirit didn't work some mojo and jump into her body, lol.

I very much liked seasons 1 and 2. 3 was dull, and 4 was just... bad.

I forget if he imagined it or not, but it still happened. It's his truth.

I wonder why Prince wanted the water planet to be blown up. I guess he thought, without it, the planet's atmosphere would recover or something? Seems like it'd be better to just take it over. It was interesting how those hot air balloons (LOL) used some kind of gravitational drift between the planets to travel. Not sure why no one needed spacesuits or anything, but it solved a question I'd had since the first episode. The desert planet's primitive-ass technology shouldn't have been able to visit the water planet in general.

LMAO, they reused the guy who had relations with 790 in that pleasure palace in season two. He's some type of basketball/lacrosse/soccer douche and you hate him from the second you see him, lol.

Kai: You look like someone who lived 4000 years ago.
Guy: Must've been a good-lookin' guy.

Kai: What do you do here?
Guy: Play games mostly. What do you do?
Kai: I was an assassin. I killed people.

Goddamn, Stanley tried to blow up the water planet with Kai and the basketball goofballs on it. Zev's interference made the timing miss, but still...douchebag move, Stan. Douchebag move.

Oh, the show remembered it had softcore scenes in it again. Kai actually got to second base in his usual deadpan way, while on a radio call with Lexx, which was played up for humor.

Xev: Kai, what's going on down there?
Kai: I am assisting someone...who is taking a shower.
Xev: Who?
Kai: What's your name?
Bunny: Bunny.
Kai: Bunny.
Xev: Who is Bunny?
Kai: A naked young woman.

To think Stanley H. Tweedle was about to blow up this wonderful paradise!

Wait, Kai can't swim? Then why the hell'd you free dive onto a planet that's 99% water, dumbass?

Damn, Xev is being a douche in this episode. She tries to ruin Stanley's seduction attempt on Bunny and then cockblocks Kai for no reason, even though he wasn't having any of Bunny's come-ons anyway.

There's randomly a living Kai flying around in this moth with Ur-Kai. Yeah, that's something that should be explained and not be left as a cliffhanger, lol.

Hmm, maybe I'll watch something after the Astros get their asses kicked.

So that weasel and Ur-Kai teamed up to try and kill Stanley. Ur-Kai was just Prince in his weird soul manifestation thing. Xev had to lizard-roll down the side of this building to help kill them as they wanted Stan to do a St. Francis' Folly swan dive, haha.

Can't believe Ur-Kai missed an arrow shot from four feet away, though. That was pathetic.

I'm glad they got away from the "Kai can't do anything without protoblood!!" phase of the show, but since it existed for so long, now it makes more sense to have it since he's gallavanting off around on desert planets and stuff.

Whoa, Kai's speech and other systems are damaged from diving onto Water. I'm glad they actually included repercussions from that stupidity, even though it seems a bit too late. You'd think he could auto-regen some of that stuff.

He tried to correct his motor functions by falling off the tower, but it didn't work. He should've known...a hard hit only fixes jukeboxes and old TVs, not biomechanical assassins.

I found it weird that they kept calling this weird NPC guy Mantrid and explained all this stuff about him (to his face), like it was going to be helpful in some way. I think he's dead now, but it felt like the setup right before a villain revives his old plans, so hopefully they don't waste time with that.

The crew of the Lexx are not the best or brightest The Light Zone had to offer.

You'd think they'd just...not blab about Mantrid-related stuff in general, purely out of self-preservation. I really hope they don't unleash Mantrid 2.0 in the new universe, though, 'cause that would be pretty stupid. I have the feeling the two planets will either help each other in the end or the desert planet gets destroyed to kill Prince once and for all. They're so close together, though, I dunno if blowing any of 'em up would be helpful. (Not that it stopped Stanley from trying earlier!)

I feel like this episode -- which took place almost entirely in weird tunnel networks -- would give some claustrophobic people the heebie-jeebies. They shadowed Prince into the route, which goes through the desert to the next lawyer-filled town, but Stanley almost got killed by insane doctors about three times while Xev was exploring. Prince died again, too, laughably.
