I wanna wreck scrubs when Street Fighter 6 eventually comes out. Game looks fun as hell.

First make a dummy account.

Then scour reddit and gaming youtuber to find out who the meta character is.

Then you exclusively learn and play that meta character in ranked matches for several hours a day. Always keep on the lookout for new strats and techs.

Once you think you are good enough, switch back to your main and use it to climb that leaderboard with minimal losses, so you keep fighting high ranked players.

You are now gud

Practice different punishes, most newbies don't punish things that are punishable.

Of course. Juri's been my favorite Street Fighter character since SFIV.
Luke is looking great in this game too. It's crazy how much more appealing his SFVI design looks compared to his SFV look. It's a world of difference because I thought he looked stupid/bland as fuck in that game.

Do whatever it takes to deplete their life, you're allowed to do anything, you can even only throw and then run away and wait the timer out. No rules

Get comfortable with what your moves are and have some sort of idea of when you want to use them

If you're getting hit, you're doing something wrong, either don't do it or be better about it

Keep playing, you're gonna get your ass beat a lot, try to not let it get to you, it's the only way you'll get better

That said, when you're just starting, especially if you're new to fighters, don't be afraid to mash buttons to see what works and when as long as you pay attention to -what- and how it works, despite the fact that you will absolutely get shit for it.

I have SFV. I quite literally only bought that game just to play as Akira because it's the closest I'll get to a new Rival Schools game for a long time
There's a 0% chance of it happening, but it would be great if they brought her back for SFVI. She's so fun to play as.

Awesome. As someone who has been in the FGC for basically ever, it's a lot to take in. Having it drip-fed because we were figuring out how shit actually worked is one thing, but just jumping in blind right now has to be daunting as hell.
