$10m, but you can never leave the USA.

Once you take the deal, you die if you set foot outside the US. Planes going directly from one state to another count as "in the US" even if they cross Canada / international waters, as long as they don't make any stops in non-US territory.

If you aren't already in the US you have a one week grace period to get there, but you don't get any of the money except what you need to get there, until you're there.

No. But non-state territories like Puerto Rico do count.

Im sorry, I didnt realise you were being quite so literal in your hatred of everywhere that wasnt the US.

Im currently in Ha Long Bay, but I live in Hanoi.

As for confidence in what a good place it is to live, just ask any of the expats whove been here a while. People come for one year and never leave. Theres a reason for that.

Nah fam I hate the US too and I live there. The US is a part of the world after all.

Never heard of Hanoi bro. Must not be that great then. I mean who's saying "fam if I win the lottery I'm retiring to live in Hanoi!"

Youve never heard of a capital city of a country that yours went to war with? I think that says more about your education than it does about Hanoi.

I think that's probably cause it tends to be something of a touchy subject, or at least it was. Like I'm not sure I can even bring up Vietnam in some situations, from what I understand it was pretty rough. Anyway it's not like I care who goes to war with whom, miss me with that violence fam. I only like love and peace bro.

Im not advocating violence either. Just pointing out that a lack of knowledge about Vietnam (basic stuff like what the capital is) is surprising from an American.

yes, if we Americans are known for anything it's our keen grasp of geography

Edited my previous post, but I simply didn't hear much about it at any point. I heard about other wars so I'm not sure why Vietnam was an exception. I know basically nothing.

As the above user said, we are indeed not known for a grasp of geography. I simply didn't get taught it in depth.

Im not blaming you man. Like I said before, its down to education and Im assuming that you have no part in deciding whats on the syllabus.

Still, I stand by my earlier claim that life here is awesome.

The food and people have been great (though Ive been told people are less friendly/helpful in the south) and theres lots of natural beauty. Plus its a springboard for exploring other places in Asia.

However, the biggest draw is that I can live like a king over here. I get paid nearly triple what Id get back home, almost all my expenses are paid for me on top of that, and everything is really cheap. Im like a whole different class of citizen over here. Not that I am a citizen, but, you know.

Ah, I forgot an expat in developing country is definitely an entirely different experience.

And yeah, Vietnamese food is great, Asian food in general is a nice experience.
