Finally beat Margit. About level 27 and 15 hours into the game. Damn the rest of the map just opened up and feels mammoth. I honestly feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment!

Anyone else feel like this in games? Do first area and then rest of the map opens and just feel completely exhausted looking at it?

Unsure. ER2 hasn't come out yet.

I nust got exhausted by finding out Days Gone had a 4th area. Have to break. You can't fast travel on Survivor which really draws it out

Elden Ring also made me feel overwhelmed especially towards the beginning, but a vet (especially using a long-range build) can become so overpowered you can easily steam through the second half of the game if not all of NG+ like cake minus maybe 1 or 2 things (literally)

Reminds me of speedruns in Bloodborne or Sekiro, but there's so much map to explore you're running into something new and there's a ton of catharsis in becoming stronk. From what I'm reading, players tend to hit a wall at the beginning because Margit & Godrick grrrr scary sauce, and then again at the end towards the final handful of bosses, and to a lesser extent players hitting a wall in the middle of NG+. Anyway, you really just don't know the ropes yet. Everything you see is semi-interactive. Gota get your guy strong. Visit Leyndell after Godrick.......

Use Bleed, a nice katana
And a bow

Slowly transition over to mage or fth

Softcap your vigor

Only if you feel the need to see every nook and cranny in one playthrough, which admittedly is how FromSoft's previous games have trained players to painstakingly search.

The game actually lets you skip a ton of content and choose which areas you do to achieve progression.

And the charm of discovering that giant castle on the horizon is either, A.) The FS break room and off limits, or B.) You can enter the enclosure but it's literally a giant box of dead bodies with a few ramparts and a key lol

Make it a text adventure FPS.

As someone who tried to complete as much as humanly possible - and I think I came close, only know of one catacomb that I missed - it took me 143 hours to finish the game.

it is microscopic. daggerfall much much much much much much much x100 bigger than elden ring
