No my username is based on a major antagonist from some old D&D games. Originally created just for the game, he got later incorporated into D&D canon as a warlock patron.

Anyway the game in question is Guardian Tales.

Just hearing some of the music that play during certain scenes is enough to make my cry all over again.

Never actually teared up but got close a few times.

Mother 2 got me with its ending, but I'm a sentimental goober so the mechanics of the last fight and the epilogue almost made me happy cry.

Mother 3 got me a few times. Chapter 1 with Flint and the letter callback, and Lucas running through the flower field lol.

Plenty. Kara no Shoujo destroyed me. And not just sad tears, either. But ones from the genuine understanding between the two main characters that built up their relationship.

That said, I'm looking forward to playing Valkyrie Profile Lenneth again and getting wrecked with sadness at the hopelessly bleak world.

@wingsofgood Ultima Thule from the moment the Scions began doing their thing had me bawling. And when the final phase for the final boss played our theme, and I realized it was just a basic heal check, I started tearing up. Also when the FFIV town theme came on in the Loppprits den.

It's not, after constant reloops, constant having to see tragedy after tragedy in your quest to finally see the end of it, to finally see it all work out for the characters you met throughout these things come to a positive end. you're sad the game is over but happy the rain has finally stopped.

Mostly visual novels, like by Key and 07th Expansion. They are my weakness.

The closest thing in recent years, and it wasn't full on tears but what I call emotionally compromised, was THAT series of cutscenes from Xenoblade 3. You know the ones, if you've played it.

Nah, even if im invested in a game usually video game writing is super cliche to me so it pulls me out of a full emotional investment.

There's been some emotional moments that give me a heart tug tho. RDR2, Last of Us, Life is Strange, Metal Gear.

The Baldur's Gate Saga, and I'm talking the original, not BG:EE. There's a big difference.

FFX, though I feel the soundtrack played a major factor and getting me to tear up several times throughout the game.

Mass Effect 3, but it was more because of going through all three games and the body of work of it.

OoT and Majora's Mask both for me, but I was majorly obsessed with both games when I was a preteen.

Nothing else has since, which is a bit disappointing to me.
