Some are already too big for convenient storage, but nah, that's mostly a AAA trend. The majority of games being put out, even discounting shovelware, are not such massive undertakings

I feel that way about quite a few AAA open world games. What's the point of making these huge locations with nothing of interest in them? It usually makes getting around more frustrating.

i'll put in 200+ hours if the game is really enjoyable
a game just requiring 200 hours to beat seem like a pain

I can see this. I just plat'd HFW, and I've been hesitant to start Elden Ring. I'd like to replay BotW before Tiktok comes out. By the time that's done, I'll be burnt out on OW games

Really isn't that much to it if you ignore the radiant style quests. It just seems bigger than it is. You can finish it in the same amount of time as any Elder Scrolls. Probably less if you get lucky in wondering quest dungeons and realize early on that no quest outside of the main quest is special.

To the topic, no. The amount of free time we have in life is just getting smaller. I'm sure people with more free time (kids, etc) love these longer games.
