sometimes animals approach your because they live lonely lives on the street/in the wild.

My landlord doesn't allow pets and my car is temporarily out of commission, so keeping it and taking it to a shelter is out of the question.
I want to at least flag someone down to take care of the little guy.

People in this topic are blindly advocating for you to potentially steal someone's family member away from them >_>. Definitely do not do this based on one secluded run in with the cat. My neighbors let their cats outside all the time and sometimes they chill in my yard. Im sure they would ve devastated if I decided to just steal one one day.

At least ask for details people. No one even asked if it has a collar before telling you to take it home lol

Yeah, one of my immediate thoughts was it might belong to someone. It's a pretty looking cat. No collar though.

There was a lady passing by, going for a walk. She said she'd stick around with it.

As far as serious answers go though, you're pretty much stuck with your own feelings about it. Take some pictures and ask your neighbors or Facebook I guess. Maybe see if your local vet can ID him.

If no one accepts him within like a couple/few weeks, maybe see if you can find him a home.

You could always put food and water out for it, maybe make it a lil shelter outside
