It finally got put into Duel Links. Not much a fan of it so far. Kinda weird. I like XYZ and Pendulum summoning more

It has its string points but you definitely gotta know your combo exactly in most cases or you'll accidentally be unable to extend it further. At least, in a single turn. Though it also gets weird when you start special summoning copies from the graveyard and suddenly can point in opposing directions. Not that I ever dove too deeply into that, the most complex link deck I ever used was live twins and the standard supporting links plus a boss one for extra destroys.

The extra deck Summoning mechanics in yugioh, with the exception of Pendulum Summoning, have all gotten easier and less restrictive over time.

Synchros are similar to Fusions except you don't need poly and you need a tuner type card, also a lot of them don't need specific materials

Xyz don't even require tuners, just any (usually) 2 monsters of the same level, with the amount needing specific types reduced overall

Links literally just need monsters in some cases, even tokens. A lot of the meta cards require however many effect monsters which at least rules out tokens.(although a lot of them can use things like missus radiant x2 from a single scapegoat to summon themselves)

I feel like the next Summoning mechanic is gonna be something like.... Any amount/combination of cards, not even just monsters or something. Like a continuous trap with a strong effect that requires 3 continuous traps or something. I dunno. Cards like Verte (at least in master duel) are just insane, and basically make it nearly impossible to brick with a lot of decks.

Konami was pretty consistent in releasing a new mechanic every 4ish years or so. Since the release of speed/rush duels though, they've slowed down a bit.

Like any summoning mechanic newly added to Duel Links, it will take a little while to get a decent amount of great Link monsters. But Salamangreats are Tier 1 already, which is better than when the others were added.

Did they put Accesscode Talker in Duel Links? I want them to put Halq in Duel Links, if only for a day then get banned so it can be banned in every Yugioh format. Good riddance I hated that card.
