Tennessee vs. Georgia next week is big, but honestly, I don't think the losing team should fret too much (unless they lose by 30 points or something) because there's still a path to the playoff for both of them, win or lose

And the losing team gets an extra week off at the end of the season! Sweet deal.

Yea the only weird thing is going to be the unlikely scenario where we finish with an undefeated Big 10, SEC, Clemson, and TCU

I almost kind of want Clemson to make the playoff just to see them get utterly exposed by whomever they play

but I want TCU to get in to make up for the travesty of how the committee did them wrong the first year of the playoff

Lose to Georgia + Alabama beats Georgia in the SEC title game = Tennessee is the first team out.

Well yeah, Bama beating UGA is the worst case scenario (same for Bama beating us for UGA if we win), so we'd need UGA to win the SEC title game in that case

although if LSU beats Alabama, we're looking at a scenario where Bama doesn't make the title game at all

Michigan State is giving more reasons to be given the death penalty. Not that such a punishment will ever happen again.

In better news, Oregon State was idle, but, at 6-2, the Beavers moved into the poll for the first since the 2013 preseason, ending the second-longest active Power 5 drought. Rutgers owns the longest active Power 5 drought, not being ranked since November 2012.

It's just that it isn't that impressive. There are probably dozens of players with more touchdowns than those teams. It's probably over 100 if you count QBs.

If you're counting QBs, yeah. I don't know that there are that many position players with that many.

To be precise, after looking it up, there are 11 players with at least 12 total TDs. Hyatt is the only WR.

Tennessee tying Ohio State for #2 in the AP poll means Tennessee/Georgia is a rare 1 vs 2 matchup. And I wouldn't be surprised to see them 1-2 in the CFP poll as well.

Based on resume, Tennessee should be #1. If it's based on reputation, it'll be Georgia or Ohio State.

Michigan State suspends 4 players effective immediately, with possibly more to come based on the outcome of an investigation, and the players will remain suspended until the investigation is over, at the very least.
