The same thing happened to Vinny from Vinesauce like a year ago I believe. Accusations of using his power as a streamer to get sex from fans. Emails and even a recorded call were used as ammo against him. Turned out everything was falsified when people started digging around the email address used and the file for the call. Turned out the email was not Vinny's and the call was hastily chopped together audio of him mixed in with someone trying a Vinny impersonation. The final nail in the coffin for the accusations came when he said he was lawyering up, the people making accusations suddenly started coming forward saying that the accusations were untrue lol. Most people believe the whole thing was started by someone who used to stream for Vinesauce but was cut from the team when it was discovered that he was stealing money from the charity the Vinesauce crew does every summer.

TL;DR People will lie, even something serious like assault or sexual abuse, for their 15 minutes of fame or to ruin someone's career. That said, early days, we'll have to wait and see in this.

I've seen the guy working with other creators, but didn't know much about him directly. I really hate how these people wrote that statement. It uses a bunch of weaselly descriptions. If true, it paints him out to be a piece of shit either way, but the way they skirt around directly stating particular things is annoying. Anyone regardless of age can be groomed, but grooming actual minors is a whole different ballpark than if they were all legal age.

The reason why they did that is because this dude has a good reputation and a fanbase that would not accept he could be in the wrong, we've even seen that in this topic

There's also a lot of accusations and most of them are more vague mental abuse things such as gaslighting or "If you leave me I'll kill myself" which are hard to give concrete dates or proof for

They're also concerned due to the number of victims that there might be more who are afraid to come forward.

If someone says "Oh he told me he was going to kill me in Kanas on June 12th, 2018" and any part of that turns out to be incorrect. every single victim is going to be dismissed.

We saw this with Bill Cosby and Vince McMahon and Epstein and OJ Simpson and tons of others.

Amber Heard tried to do that with Johnny Depp. Her biggest argument in court was claiming that Depp lied when he said Amber throwing glass bottles at him is what cut his finger off.

Because if they could cast doubt on that then they could dismiss every single accusation.

I'm really not a big fan of putting people, especially young girls under tremedous scrunity for coming out about being abused, as if they're in the wrong for doing so. That just empowers abusers.
