Damn no posts?

This show is a league ahead of the other Star Wars live action stuff IMO. It has an actual range of characters with their own believable actions, motivations and responses that have ramifications that go well beyond what they could expect or imagine. It doesn't rely on fan service to be interesting. Cinematography and locations are top notch. Even if this didn't have the Star Wars branding it would be an actual good sci-fi show.

It'll be a total shame if it gets overlooked but I suppose not overly surprising since the pitch doesn't seem to be interesting on the surface.

I feel sorry for the earth's population, 'cause so few live in the U.S.A. At least the foreigners can copy our morality, they can visit but they cannot stay.

Yeah, this show is definitely a step up. This episode was especially good with the new ISB and Mon Mothma stuff. Mon Mothma looked great. Can't believe they've kept the same actress from RotS and Rogue One. It was also great to see Coruscant again.

Karn is a wildcard right now. I wonder if he'll be a third side or if he'll end up helping Andor.

I like that we are actually acknowledging the perilous paranoia filled world that early rebels would have existed in.

Karn is so compelling to me. His life is at a complete crossroads right now. Either he learns from what he did, thinks about the consequences of his actions and strive to make amends or he doubles down, blames everyone else and gets suckered into extremism.

Both are completely believable.

This show really nails the politics of actually living in Star Wars during this era.

when he was getting chewed out, my immediate thought was "and that's how rebels are born"

All of this. The whole thing just radiates with talent in the production.

And even then we still get the odd bit of fanservice, like the bits on Coruscant and the mention of the Rakata.

Nemik is adorable. Shame he'll probably be the first to bite it. >_>

And I can't wait for Karn to become more engaged, either to see him properly step up or properly fuck up.

Mon Mothma's home life is so shitty too. Her husband being some 'apolitical' douche who finds the struggles and inconveniences of others outside his vision boring or irrelevant. A guy who has fun trolling his wife by forcing her to have dinner with Emperor lackeys.

Not someone who is an Empire devout or obviously evil. Just someone who absolutely benefits from their social status living during an oppressive regime. Someone who is privileged and does absolutely nothing positive with it and just goes along with evil because it doesn't inconvenience him.

Seriously how the hell is this a Star Wars show? There's so much depth to the lives these people live. It's not just typical rebels vs empire stuff. Hell this is the most oppressive the Empire has actually felt and they haven't used a single Stormtrooper. That single Tie-Fighter was used so effectively.

Its not a bad show, but, like with Rogue One:

Waiting for a reason to care about any of these characters lol

This is the only side of Star Wars where I havent felt compelled by the characters. Its so bizarre to me that the movie and this show are so praised. I feel like Elaine and The English Patient lol.

The stuff with Mon Mothma was cool though. And of course, dropping the Rakata name was the highlight.

Yeah, Karn does seem like he would end up becoming more extreme, but I think it's also a good point that this was it for him now that I think more about how he walked home in shame.

That's exactly what I was thinking as it was playing out. Dude doesn't give a fuck and gives off massive troll vibes. Just casually invited Palpatine's consort to dinner. Fucked up lol.

The Skywalker saga has a lot of baggage lol.

I get what you're saying. It's very early right now, but I think the 24 episodes between 2 seasons should be ample time to build that up.

I actually didn't even realize Mon Mothma was gonna be a major character in this. I am definitely pleasantly surprised

It's early, but so far, it looks pretty good even if it wasn't really Star Wars and just a new sci-fi show. I say check the first 4 episodes before calling it quits, because for me, the 4th episode greatly increased my interest.
