If the supreme court rules in republican favor for this we have no more voting rights period The supreme court resumes in just 4 days and this is one of their first cases this could effectively cancel out whatever successes Democrats could have in the mid term elections the month after too and of course the snowball effect will hit and the terrible terrible politicians people can't wait to vote out will never be voted out ever again with this ruling they'll all be able to go full on Sinema and throw up a middle finger at their constitutes knowing they legally can't do anything about their obvious corruption.

i know it sounds like fearmongering but the fear is real it's just one of many challenges to laws we've once enjoyed with no real worry of them getting overturned by federalist society lunatics, gay marriage is one, hell interracial marriage could be next basically anything they can bill as "Owning the libs" will be lined up to be shot down

Is SCOTUS asking for another protest near their homes? If this case rules in favor of Republicans, then they will never be elected in the money-making blue states ever again.

This year is truly the test for American democracy even if the supreme court doesn't do this it still doesn't mean they won't be in a position to do it later on, when they have a republican controlled government like a republican in the white house, a republican controlled senate and a republican controlled house, like they could get if dems don't vote in enough number in the mid terms and enough independents see high food and gas prices in November and decide to take it out on Democrats

You're describing literally every election in modern US history.

My hope is that Democrats--including Biden--have serious plans for immediate SC reform, but are waiting until after midterms to unleash them. If Democrats really aren't controlled opposition, the point past which they will never again hold the presidency ought to be a red line.

I also hold out some hope that the SC won't decide the way we think they will, simply for the sake of preserving their power.

There really isn't a limit to the response justified if the Supreme Court embraces Independent State Legislature theory.
