Wasn't Euphy able to resist Lelouch's geass that would've forced her to kill Suzaku? So I don't think simp would be the right word since she clearly reciprocated his feelings.

I'm fairly certain that with Euphemia gone, the deal she had brokered was off the table regardless. And it would have definitely been revoked upon the return of Cornelia.

It was because on top of her dying, he found out that Zero had used the Geass to make her destroy the accord to liberate Japan by senselessly killing his own people. And he probably was told about others who had been controlled by it. At the very least, robbing people of their free will was something he couldn't abide. So it was several things. But more than anything, it was because he hoped above all else that Zero was anyone but Lelouche.
