Unless you were born in the 70s or early 80s, your first Nintendo Console was not an NES, unless you're honestly saying that your first gaming endeavor was to hit up a retro gaming system.

My first was an NES. I was born in 88. I got it in 93. We didn't have money for current gen systems. The first time I had a console that was actually modern was the PS2 about halfway through it's life cycle.

First console was atari 2600. Then NES. I actually remember when a neighbor got the first NES in our neighborhood. I went to his house and the graphics blew me away.

I was born in 1992. My mom had an NES, that she bought in like 1990, when I was growing up. Some of my earliest memories are watching my mom play through the original Legend of Zelda. I never had a SNES growing up (but I did play it at my cousins' houses), but I did get an N64 eventually.

idk what to tell you. The system had been out for a while when my mom bought it, but it was "cheap" (I think she told me she paid like $80 for it in 1990, which would be the equivalent of almost $200 today). So, it would be comparable to someone buying a PS4 right before the PS5 came out.

I was born in 91. My first console was the SNES. My earliest memory is either my 3rd birthday party, or my mom pushing me in a shopping cart at a store, and me seeing the SNES in a kiosk and asking her to get it and she did. I don't remember which one came first.

I was born in 88 and when I was old enough to play, we couldn't afford a SNES but my mom found a NES at a garage sale so it was my first console. I never had a SNES and my cousin gave me his N64 later. You a dumb or something?

Most users were born in the late 80s, where a handmedown/sale price NES was incredibly likely, if you were going to get any console at all.

Man, you sound just like me. I had a N64 and then someone gave me a Gamecube later for Christmas(when it was 100 dollars). The first console I ever bought for myself as a PS2.

87 here and yes, it was NES. Followed by SNES and then Genesis.

NES was big for a long time. I was born in 86 and people were playing it well into the early-mid 90s.

My brother was born in 78, and me in 83. The NES was his christmas gift in 87. We still have that same NES packed away...it has a crack in the top right since we used to trip over a controller cord and make it fall off the TV alot, lol.

The SNES was mine though. (My brother then got a genesis in 92 I think it was). I got the SNES as a get well gift the year it came out in NA.

Born in 84. Uncle had an Atari that I played a bunch. Eventually got a NES.

i had an atari for a bit growing up as well cause my mom loves garage sales
its where we found a second nes after the first one broke down

i dont remember when i got a snes but my mom usually got consoles from garage sales rather than buying new. but i know i had one by grade 2 because thats the year i got super mario rpg legend of the 7 stars which started my lifelong love of Jrpgs

the first brand new console i ever got was a N64 i got on christmas. it was the jungle green one that came with a copy of donkey kong 64 and the little red and black thing you put into a slot of the console to make D64 work properly. i think only 2 N64 games needed that to function

I had pneumonia myself around the mid 2000s (I remember having it like 3 days or so after tales of legendia released in NA. I was sick as a dog and always associated this time with that game, lol).

But yeah I got backed over by a car as a kid. It was at night and I was running around n' I think playing with another kid in a church parking area. Thankfully this area where it happened at was on dirt (also I was face down, so the tire went over my back) or I most likely would have definitely been dead.

When my dad found out he almost killed that dude that hit me. (I never really asked my mom the exact details but I believed they either sued that dude or we got a lot of money for that accident). All I remember was that I had a fresh new SNES when it was brand new w/ super mario world......but I could barely play it since my right arm was in a sling for close to a month. =(

I've only had two Nintendo Consoles.
The NES and The Gamecube.

I am squarely GenX so the NES was my first console or PC at all.
It was an upgrade, and I enjoyed it, but the Genesis blew it out of the water.
