5 fucking phenomenal albums. Even their weakest album (Steal This Album!) has some of my favorite songs of theirs on it.

I used to not be a big fan of their first (Self-Titled) album, but the more I've listened to it, the more I've come to appreciate it. You really see all of their now prominent traits in their infant forms, but they're still very present. I'd also argue that their first album is probably their heaviest, by a good bit. Sure, they have some pretty decently heavy songs later, but I weirdly think they softened their metal sound a bit after this album. They never quite do something like P.L.U.C.K. ever again in terms of their sound; the closest I can think of is maybe Prison song? But even then that's a stretch. I used to not like Sugar, but it's better than I used to give it credit for. Spiders is also a fantastic song.

Toxicity is basically a perfect album, and the fact that I was released a week before 9/11 is such an amazing cultural marking.

As I said before, Steal This Album! is probably their weakest album IMO, the first half being way better than the second, but it still has some of my favorite songs. (Mr. Jack, Chic N' Stu, and Roulette are all great.)

Hypnotize and Mezmerize are a great pairing. I think I might prefer Mezmerize of the 2, but Hypnotize has Holy Mountains, which I think might be my favorite song of theirs. The only thing with these is, I like Daron, but I think I did prefer when Serj was the main one doing lead vocals. I feel like they worked better when Daron was either back-up, or they had a good mix of them both like in B.Y.O.B.

idk, I just felt like ranting about System. I think they're probably my favorite band at this point honestly.

I love Steal This Album, but it just seems... off-balanced. It has some great stuff, but stuff like Boom! and Pictures just don't hold up for me, idk.

While I'm at it:

Toxicity > Mezmerize > Self-Titled > Hypnotize > Steal This Album!

But all 5 are great, and I listen to all of them in their entirety pretty often.

The self titled is the only one I can really go back to and just listen, toxicity and steal this album are kitschy and goofy. I do like some songs off of mesmerize though

Yeah SOAD is one of the few bands with a discography that I can listen to from beginning to end in its entirety. I don't think there's a single song I would skip

It's a shame they went on hiatus for so long and probably won't have another full album, but they saw no decline in quality and left out on the highest note possible imo

I'll forget you said STA is the weakest, but I agree and I can listen to all of their albums front to back.

Sucks man. I hate when people keep anything on repeat too long. It's why I hate watching A Christmas Story these days.

Main one I remember was something about building a prison. Probably wouldn't have liked it anyways sounded so annoying.

I used to like some soad music though.

But between them and my chemical romance with my sisters I just can't. Think ramnstein is the only thing they listened to alot they didn't ruin for me. But they'd actually play various songs instead of being hooked to one song
