Or do you think if they're going to have one, they might as well have at least 2. Either by birth or adoption.

Assuming of course that the couple in question have the resources and ability (health concerns), etc.

I know some get criticism when they say they want no kids. But I also find the criticism for saying you only want one kid to be.. Interesting.

Not really. Im in the boat of only wanting one kid still (my kid is 9 months old). Im selfish and want some of my own life back. Having a bunch seems like hell. Everyone is saying that will change but so far it hasnt.

if the mom was like, "it hurt like hell with little Timmy; I'm never doing that again!"

We only ever planned on one kid and I got a vasectomy a couple months after she was born. She's 6 months right now.
My wife did not like being pregnant and would not go through with it again, so it was the right move to do. She's so fucking cute though and such a good baby. She's just trying to trick us into having a sibling, but we're not falling for it

No, and I always got annoyed and rolled my eyes whenever someone told me I'd want more kids. 19 years later...

I find it weird when anyone wants to have a kid on purpose.

I work in the health field and ran into a girl pregnant with her 8th kid as a CNA probably making $18 a hour. Why anyone would want that life is weird to me.

I feel you, my kids are having a hard time accepting my girlfriend as a stepmom.

My wife is also being less than supportive.

The only thing that's weird is trying to dictate what other people do. You're entitled to your opinion, but unless you plan on having kids with that person, you should not be forcing your opinion about kids on them.

It is for me because I weigh the ability for me to be selfish and do what I want as the main factor. Caring for a kid takes a ton of time away from other things that I enjoy doing. Having more kids will make it even more impossible for me to be selfish with my time.

Depends on the family. My sister and I are not close (we are 5 years apart). When I had kids I wanted them closer in age so they are 2 years apart and they are each others best friends. But many of their friends in school mention that they dont get along with their siblings.

You don't owe anyone kids though. And having kids is selfish because you are forcing someone into existence who is possibly going to suffer and is definitely going to die onto a dying world when you could adopt instead.

Were still unsure if were one and done as well. I thought Id be ok with it but I do want her to have a sibling to play with. Or if something terrible were to happen to me and my husband, she wouldnt be alone. Things like that creep up on me its weird. My husband is fine with just our daughter. But I get so many people guilt tripping me to have another and that decision is between me and my husband alone. Its irritating.

I had an older brother when I was born. I have never known what it is like to he a single child but it seems lonely. I feel bad for kids with no siblings

My kids are on and off. They very clearly love each other, they sometimes just don't like each other lol
