I saw one in Atlanta the other day and got some nostalgia.

All the ones here in the suburbs have closed

I remember when we could drive into Ontario to see our family and didn't need anything but a driver's license. Now, it's sometimes an hour wait and a terrorist interrogation. And when I was a little kid seeing my family in Germany and going to school there by myself was no big deal either. I had this minder lady who checked on me and had me answer questions every Monday at school. That was it.

As a child I walked across the Peace Bridge (Niagara Falls) didn't actually enter the US, just went to the center of the bridge and stepped onto the American side, took some photos of the falls and went back to the Canadian side; we didn't have any id and had to talk to the RCMP for about half an hour but there is no way that would have happened today, I doubt I would have even gotten on to the bridge with the way things are today.

I loved their sandwiches, and hate what happened to so many locations as a result of of corporate scamming them out of money and not providing the things those locations needed to run, if I'm remembering right. I kept telling people, for years, that Quiznos sandwiches were far better than Subway, but people kept parroting the same question, "Then why have I not heard of them, eh?"

Sounds like how Subway treats it's franchisees, except subway will allow a rival subway franchise to open next door to an existing one and takes more of the gross revenue than any other food chain.

RIP Quiznos Chicken Carbonara.
My personal favorite "fast food" sandwich of all time. It tasted like a sandwich that costed twice as much.

Also Subway toasting is a joke compared to Quiznos.
