What do you expect from the social anxiety generation?

I have anxiety, so I'm either gonna aggressively avoid eye contact or stare into your soul.

I make eye contact talking but it's brief. 4 to 5 seconds look around then back to eye contact. Rinse and repeat. Too long and it just feels awkward
Well yeah you're not supposed to stare lol

Lol when my boss is chewing you out over something it's like she's staring into your soul.

Would you ever tell people in real life you have anxiety or do you worry about judgment

I usually just take the hint they don't feel like chatting and want to be left alone
Yeah I just stop talking mid sentence if they aren't looking at me

At least with me, its generally my work email if I take time to look at it.

Thats the dark side of internet on phones: if youre serious about work youre always available.

Is it a bad take, though? I mean, not being able to Do The Thing in most any context is a weakness.

I deleted my work email from my phone and when my boss found out he reprimanded me and I thought of this post

Seriously, I don't understand how they don't get tired of just browsing tiktok and sending funny memes to each other. They've showed me a couple times and I give a polite smile and occasionally force a chuckle but the things they find humorous... aren't my cup of tea. Guys farting into a speakerphone? Haha?

A lot of people get super uncomfortable these days if you're actually looking at them while making conversation, and it's like tripled for eye contact. I love it. As I have no problem with it, gives me an easy off switch for people talking to me about shit I don't care about lol.

That said, I also just seldom use my phone honestly, and despite being a product of it essentially, I fucking hate meme culture. Well hate is a strong word, just tired of it I guess. The fact that memes basically replaced humor is kinda gross.

I really don't think it's the whole "social anxiety" thing people itt are peddling, these are normal everyday confident people I'm talking about not weirdos. I have social anxiety but guess what the real world doesn't have time for that BS people on the internet spout, so I just fake it, fake it until you make it. If you act confident you'll be confident as they say...

I feel that way often, but I think if you lie to yourself enough you start to believe it, and then you'll just believe that's your personality

It can become your personality too. Fake it till you make it can work. I went from being shy timid anti social etc to being able to strike up conversation with just about anybody and tell Convicted murderers what to do even if I gotta get ugly with it

And yeah I faked it for awhile. Not it's zero effort
