This item smells like a newbie trap that looks good but it's actually terrible.

It carries you through the early game but its dps is too low to be viable in the mid game beyond. People say to grab it for the knock back, but Ive never seen it knock back any enemy. Maybe like a frame or two or delay at most. Not a real knock back like other weapons like the bibles

having said that, you have 5 other weapon slots to use for late game weapons. But if you pick garlic you will have a harder time later than if you picked a real weapon

its a decent early game item, but kings bible is far far better.

In my experience, it's more of a support item than a great weapon. It lets you level faster in the early game, but it doesn't do much late game.

I think it doesn't knockback itself, it just makes enemies less resistant to it. So other weapons will knockback enemies further.

Also I'm playing this game mostly blind and this fucking Vandalier just blew my mind. I was not expecting that lol.

Nah, it's not better evolved. It increases its damage whenever you heal 80 damage, but it also means you have to take the self-healing item which isn't great. I think it's actually recommended to not evolve it unless you're on a map with the item sitting around because it means you lose out on a better item.

And yeah, Vandalier is really good, the downside being that you have to use the birds which kinda suck.

Honestly almost nothing is 'bad' in Vampire Survivors. The only thing that will kill a build is early Pentagram. Or yeah the birds I guess if you only get them since their coverage can't be relied on early to get XP

You're at the mid stage.

Garlic lets you level aggressively early on and increases the knockback of other weapons, which is really important to survivability if you can't kill immediately. There's some weapon combos where you can just sit still because nothing can approach you faster than it gets knocked back.

thats just bibles with projective speed and duplicator except its capable of knockback itself and actually does damage

Garlic doesn't really do much evolved. Kings Bible basically means any mid-tier mob won't be able to touch you.

I meant kings Bible is always lowest damage when I take it. Is it just for survival I guess not for damage?

Then your not letting it buff.... about 5 months ago it was the strongest weapon in the game. You have to take on the card that increases weapon speed, and get items to increase weapon speed and duplication.

Both. Your wanting to reduce the cooldown so it takes less time to spawn the next set of bibles during its 1st form, and the attack speed makes it so its rotating faster and faster meaning more hits to the enemy in both forms.

Cool-down reduction is universally good I believe. Its the second best upgrade, behind the duplicator.

I take it there's absolutely positively no way around this guy?

Oh, then no. The White Hand shows up if you have the Crimson Shroud and/or Infinite Corridor and kill Death. It was introduced as a way of actually ending the game because those two items can (and did when they were released) just kind of get you stuck killing Deaths forever.

oh, I didn't realize I'd actually killed him. I was just panic running as fast as I could because I wanted to see how long I could last. I see he's in my list of playable characters now. seems kind of OP. I'll give him a shot.

My biggest beef with this game is if you have all unlocks the game is a piece of cake even with the joke characters. The challenge maps aren't actually challenging enough.

I put a few hours into 20 Minutes Till Dawn but honestly that game doesn't have 1/100th the replayability with its single map and 3 enemies

You can always do things like cut your active weapons down to 1, play Lama, pick up only right arrow & gold ring, deactivate power ups, etc to make the game harder. The framework to make it hard is there but the point of the game seems to be more about how stupidly overpowered you can get.

If you really want a challenge you can pick Game Killer for your first Arcana. It's basically impossible to last longer than 10 minutes if you do that, though.

I want to have a challenge while still enjoying the upgrades I worked for though. And Curse eg gold ring is actually good because spawn increases mean XP increases.

Early on I figured out that every single evolve requires a different companion item so I combed through all the ones I didn't evolve and paired them with items I haven't used in other evolves and found them all that way. Some I found through dumb luck like I got the evolved Song of Mana because I got the skull o matic off the ground in the forest and I didn't even have the skull unlocked lol.

TIL: You can get 7 weapons if you're lucky

also, evolved pentagram confirmed best weapon in the game, even beating out infinite corridor halving hp on red reaper.

Do the entire unlock list until the only thing left is Queen Sigma & Victory Sword, then do everything in the secrets menu. You have to look up the solution to one of them on the internet it makes no sense and there's no way to figure it out in game.

You have to defeat it in order to unlock the secrets menu which gives you hints on how to unlock things that aren't in the collections tab, although only one of the things in that list actually count towards unlocking queen sigma.

Basically you want to ignore it until you're strong enough to 1 shot it. You'll also need to be playing a character with high Move Speed or grab several levels of the Wings item. It starts off quite small and manageable

Garlic is a situational item. One key use for it is to accept that you're essentially gonna only have 5 weapons late game and use it to fuel your early game. Evolved it combines very well with Sarabond Of Healing, which sends out a damage pulse every time you heal. So when Soul Eater gets a kill you heal slightly which damages everything around you which in turn nets more Soul Eater kills which in turn causes more damage pulses in a cascading effect. Also, anyone knocking Sarabond Of Healing has never paired it with Disco Fever.

Super late game (and I don't mean late in a single run, I mean with lots of hours in the game) Garlic is considered one of the best weapons in the game. It is the only weapon that has an always-on AOE damage effect from level 1 so with a silly amount of Golden Eggs it turns into a screen wide nuke that 1 shots everything as soon as enemies spawn. Garlic is considered key to super late game Gold farms where you can earn like $5,000,000+ gold per run

I'm using the holy water method and I get about 3 million gold per run. I've also found that not taking skull o maniac actually gives MORE gold because you kill more enemies faster. Maybe I should try garlic instead and then I can take attractorb.

I've got like 1000 eggs on Big Trouser. I started with Queen Sigma and dumped everything on Big Trouser into Big Trouser was strong enough to survive the early game.

Yeah, Big Trouser is the best gold farmer but you need a lot more Eggs before Garlic is strong enough to be effective. I think it ticks over around to 10k egg mark

I just tried. Garlic seems to work but not as well as holy water. The biggest issue is when you evolve an item you lose everything you spent in limit break on the unevolved item and you can't get evolved garlic until 10 minutes in.

Can still make around 2.5 million though.

Early Pentagram destroys XP and chests you need to level up. Pretty sure I've lost Arcana to Pentagram's erasure.

Try La Robba or just Santa Water and see how they do. Can banish SW at 8 so it doesn't evolve if you do go for attractorb. Nvm about SW, completely missed you addressed it lol.

oh I was doing bone zone because of the 100% gold bonus but maybe cappella is better for garlic

Why are you letting Pentagram proc on a screen where you have chests/lots of XP? As soon as a chest drops you get it off screen until Penta procs again.
