Is there a term for those characters in anime who always have their eyes half closed? I don't mean completely closed, like brock from pokemon, but that sort of glazed over, half open, lazy, bored look that ONE character in every anime always seems to have? ... Copied to Clipboard!

tareme? if you're talking about eyes like squidward, that particular half-open look isn't actually that common in anime, and tsurime can also pull it off --- http://i.imgur.com/LabbRyN.jpg raytan and Kana are on opposite ends of the Awesome Spectrum. ... Copied to Clipboard!

So now I can figure out how to say "I hate characters with tareme eyes" and I think I'll be ready for my trip. Thanks! it's basically a soft moe look, usually more passive characters will have those kinds of eyes and they're sometimes contrasted with tsurime characters (Kagami and Tsukasa in Lucky Star, Kyou and Ryou in Clannad) a lot of series have tareme eyes as the default though for basically all female characters. like Lucky Star, Kanon, Shuffle, or any moeshit --- http://i.imgur.com/LabbRyN.jpg raytan and Kana are on opposite ends of the Awesome Spectrum. ... I wasn't really going around talking to otakus or anything, so I didn't specifically ask anyone who would have actually known. The concierge though it was funny though.
