Rings of Power is shit, and I knew it would be one they fired their Tolkien historian when he said it wasn't following the vision of the franchise. They deserve to get review bombed. Can't comment on she hulk though.

Critics were always worthless, with or without user review bombing.

I've definitely been seeing a lot of people moaning about She-Hulk, but then I see a lot of people suggesting it's actually very accurate to the comics. Regardless, the criticisms I'm seeing don't make much sense since they're acting like Iron Man was some ultra serious movie, and they don't like the less serious elements in She-Hulk. Seems like a selective memory problem since Iron Man was goofy as fuck.

I've also mostly only seen very inarticulate criticism of Rings of Power. Pretty excited to check it out actually.

My favorite is when a movie gets like a 1.2/10 on IMDB and people go "it isn't review bombing, it's just a bad movie" when A) it gets a worse user score than some movies considered the worst of all time(like Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever) and B) people have said they are going to review bomb it.

No, because it's possible for both review scores and critics to be wrong and bad.

Read plot summaries or just take advice from people you know personally and whose opinions you trust. If you're trusting the opinions of random strangers or people who are paid to lie to you, you deserve the shit media you're going to be watching.

Do you like the PJ movies? The single most Tolkien knowledgeable person alive at at the time of their release said they were shit designed for young adults for not following the books closer.

So, by your own logic everyone should hate those too. Of course that logic is stupid. Adaptations can take liberties and still be good. Maybe in most cases they'd be better if they followed the source more faithfully but not following it doesn't make it automatically shit.

If you like the PJ movies and hate RoP it has nothing to do with what any Tolkien expert thinks.

I came in here really confused, see people are suggesting it's not about video games which makes a bit more sense. I'll tell you right now nobody thinks "critics" are reliable when it comes to video games.

lolwut? Critics have always existed, have generally been paid to have opinions, and people have -- for whatever reason -- foolishly taken those opinions seriously. And most things that get panned by users aren't "review-bombed," those are honest opinions from people who have no incentive to pretend to like something (be it monetary or an attempt to maintain access).

And, as we learned from the Sony hack, even people involved in the Ghostbusters franchise hated the reboot, but they were legally prevented from voicing their opinions and Sony used people like you to spin the negative reception the reboot was getting, by starting a gaslighting campaign where they pretended that the movie wasn't god-awful, it was sexism and convinced people to spread their propaganda. If these other companies got hacked, I imagine we'd see the same shit.

I just watched, in my opinion a very mediocre show. I didn't read the source material but so far there is not much of a story, very uneventful 2+ hours. Characters are pretty flat, and immersion is not very strong at all.

As for the rest, I mean, it's Amazon, I am pretty sure they added the absolute minimal "diversity" so that they could deflect all criticism as inherently bigoted and invalid.

Thats what I do. Even though I dont really trust my own judgment, I do still listen to what my brain is telling me. Need to sort out the odd things first though.
