My family started out as a conscripted clan for protection in Scotland. They split and my side migrated to Ireland and then America. At least as far as my surname. they used to publish a surprising amount of information in the newspaper. I was reading a random paper from around the year 1900. "so and so family is having a dinner party at 7:30pm on Jan 23", "guy who sells fish has taken a trip to some other city to study up on the ins-and-outs of the fishmongering business", "some lady underwent surgery and is in the hospital and is staying in room 123", etc.etc. I tried reading up on the lady in the hospital and she unfortunately died that june in her mid-30s. it was possible to find information about her relatives/descendants who survive to this day. --- The truth basks in scrutiny. http://i.imgur.com/GMouTGs.jpg http://projecteuler.net/profile/Sahuagin.png ...
