I was looking for a comfortable chair because my back has been killing me, but everything online or on Craigslist was too expensive or looked uncomfortable or broken down

I step outside and literally directly across the street from me was a comfy chair with a free sign attached to it

its in my room now Im sitting on it and Im so happy

90% of my furniture comes from the curb; used to have large item pickup days and you could go around and get all sorts of furniture that people didn't want anymore. It was like a county wide swap meet.

Random drunk rambling

My brother intended to set some stuff out and put a "free" sign out. He set the stuff out then went to make the sign. Shit was gone by the time he went to place sign. This is a neighborhood where he saw someone disassemble a porch to steal a bike that was chained to it. Hell they stole the wheels off his trash can.

yeah things are so nuts in some areas when it comes to people scavenging stuff

in Anaheim I saw a group of guys steal an entire bus stop with an overhang. Like they had power tools and unbolted from the concrete and took off with the whole thing in the back of their truck. It was nuts

Better then the entitled rich brats in Calgary that would smash every single bus stop in the entire city (made entirely out of glass, yes even the roof) every time there was a long weekend and Calgary liked to have long weekends.

I can understand taking something to use it for yourself but why smash things just so others can't use them.
