IIRC, Coffezilla took a random sample of like 50 NFTs and found that only one even had NFTs that had a re-sell value near the original price (and even it was -20%). NFTs are literally worthless in every conceivable way. Celebrities and influencers are paid to promote them. BoredApeYC also give the NFT to celebrities as a gift, then have them sign an NDA that says the celebrity can't disclose how they got the NFT. From the outside, it looks like the celebrity purchased and are endorsing the NFT themselves. And the celebrity has an incentive to not break the NDA because they would be admitting to a crime. Jimmy Fallon was one of these schlemiels. We know this because celebrities who didn't accept the NFT gift have mentioned this. As an aside, we've heard about the conspiracy theory that BoredApeYC is an elaborate troll. Whether or not this is true, we need to consider a world where there might be anonymous 4chan users who belong to billionaire families and who think nothing of spending a few million dollars for an elaborate troll that is only funny to their small ingroup. The only reason our imagination can't conceive of this is because we subconsciously place people with absurd wealth on a pedestal apart from the rest of society where they have motives and motivations beyond everyday people. --- "But who prays for Satan?
