Nothing against the cookie cutter Disney MCU shows that seem like they're being churned out of a factory set, but it wasn't until Peacemaker and The Boys that I really felt the need for something a little different and branched out than the rigid pg-13 content of the Disney Plus stuff.

It's like when Deadpool first released, we finally got a good comic movie that wasn't MCU, and different enough so that you could enjoy both MCU and Deadpool.

Don't forget to add Invincible to that list.

I will fully admit that while S3 finale was safe and boring, it still doesn't take away at the fact that the show is still heavily higher quality than any of the MCU shows.

Couldn't fit Invincible in the topic title. What I love about Amazon Prime is that they weirdly entered the scene with great shows and I never even thought of them as in the streaming game or as contenders.

Also they both have 3 super hero shows with evil superman done better than zack snyder, first The Tick then The Boys then Invincible in that order. Just kinda funny it worked out that way.

There's been at least three The Tick shows, and all of them are great.
...even the crappy one.

Lol crappy? But... I actually liked the new show, I didn't think it was crappy despite the mixed uneven tone and bizarre decision to waste millions of dollars on CGing the suit. Sure Patrick Warburton was already the perfect Tick as seen in the cartoon, but the recent show had this one hilarious moment in the first few episodes that completely killed me the first time I saw it.

Plus it's literally a precursor to the Boys. Dark superhero show, with an evil Superman, a well known organization that they wish to join, etc

It feels like things actually happen in those shows. The D+ shows barely move the plot along expect for what the first and last episode?

Yeah I held it together until Moon Knight, a concept and setting I really liked but which had so many egregious and erroneous issues with it that I think it's where I drew the line and finally reached my limit with disney.

For a lot of these shows and how fast they're churning them out, it really shows how low the budget is and instead of taking time to finely craft a season they're just throwing them out with barely a once over.

I know it was hilariously low budget and very late 90s/early 2000s

With the suicide squad being the only good live action dc movie since 2008's the dark knight, it gives hope that we'll finally have variety in the movie department as well
