had never read the comic, which is apparently one of the greats

liked it decently overall, though it had one episode that really blew me away

I have only seen the first episode, but it was very solid.

I have never read Sandman but I am aware of most of the Gaimam lore.

I was wondering the same earlier when I saw it was already on Netflix. Always wanted to read the comic but never got around to it, maybe watching the show first will motivate me.

Loved it, great adaptation. Episodes 4-6 is a fantastic run of episodes. There is a definite shift starting in episode 7 but it is probably less dramatic in the show. You can absolutely watch the show with zero comics knowledge.

I don't know! It just never made its way to the top of my queue. I have DCU so I could read it at any time.

I read the comic awhile ago and I absolutely loved the adaption! Really hoping it gets renewed for a second season.

I watched it because I've been hearing good things, completely unaware that it was DC until a bit in it started crossing hairs with more familiar realms of the DC occult

good show, feels rather different where it starts to where it ends but ep6 is a definite masterpiece episode for me

Been anticipating it for a long time now. Only had the time to watch the first episode so far, but it was great

Im going to watch it but havent yet

3 eps in. Watching with a friends who just isn't around to watch as much as I'd like.

Id strongly recommend it, one of the greatest comic runs of all time.

Oh by the way, if anybody wants to start on the comics after watching the show:

-The show leaves off at the end of volume 2 (of 10 in total). While you would get the most out of reading from the start, it is totally fine to start from volume 3, Dream Country.

-There is one story from the first two books not adapted yet though, Tales in the Sand which gives a bit of backstory, do you could track that one down. The show will adapt it in season 2.

-There is an audio drama version on Audible which is excellent with an absolutely stacked cast. Its a great way to get into it. They have currently done up to volume 6 with volumes 7 and 8 due out some time this year.

Someone said I should watch it so I did. Only vaguely aware of what he can actually do and such and I was honestly expecting Wesley Dodds inatead of actual Dream. Too a while for it to become unquestionably good I think, as others have said this happened right around 4-6, 6 is probably my favourite. Somehow I've never actually read Sandman proper, still dunno if I wanna check it out.

Wesley Dodds actually has a cameo in the first issue of the comic!

Also the bonus episode is great, up there with 4-6 imo. This speaks to Sandmans real strength which is the self-contained stories.

The Sound of Her Wings was the issue that made me fall in love with the comics, and I think that's a common sentiment.

Just finished it. Spectacular. And then they followed it up with Hob, one of my favorites.

So good.

Sandman has a number of great arcs, but the single issue stories are fantastic as well. This show is knocking it out of the park.

sound of her wings was okay for me i enjoyed hob a lot more, but it was the 24 hours episode that i loved most

Alright, finished it up.

Top show of the year. I am so satisfied. What a splendid adaptation. I am very happy for Neil Gaiman getting to make this. And damn, we gotta make sure this gets a season 2. I need my live action Delirium.

I'm enjoying this show but I kind of hate the way they deliver dialogue. It all sounds so fake.

Slow burner I think. Doesn't really make you go "wow this is a really good show" until a fair few episodes in.

Hope it gets better but my partner is the type to write off a show if it's not good real fast
