Most comfy show of the season

Urusei Yatsura was cool. Very charming and old school

Mob has been delightful so far.

I never watched the original Urusei Yatsura, but I tried the first episode of the reboot because of the reputation the original series had... wow, I did not enjoy that at all. I know humor is subjective and all, but I didn't find it the least bit funny, and I already despise basically every single major character I've seen so far. I'll probably give it a couple more episodes to be fair, but if the rest of the series is more of the same, then it's just not for me.

No thanks. I've already seen many people say that the cast is pretty much acting the same as they did in the original series. That plus the dated art style and 195 episodes means I have no reason to even bother with the original.

It hasn't been announced for a dub by Crunchyroll yet, but I'm 99.9% sure it'll get one. From what I understand, Sunrise usually handles their mecha/Gundam dubs in-house (which is why CR didn't announce one, Sunrise would be the ones announcing it) and almost all of them get dubs. Considering the split cour nature of the show and how Sunrise handled dubbing their last split-cour mecha anime, AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline, I would guess that the dub for Witch From Mercury will start in the gap between the two cours of the subbed broadcast. Good luck trying to avoid spoilers until then!

Akiba Maids, oh man. No matter how bad a situation you get into, it can all be solved by Ranko just putting holes and explosions in everyone's head.

I hope thats the punchline in every episode. Would make the absolute shitpost this show is even more hilarious.

Finished up S2 of Devil is a Part-Timer.

Almost as disappointing as Clear Card Hen to me. I have no idea what is happening and they did a bad job of explaining WTF is going on.

It made me laugh so there is that?

It was fun enough amd cute. The biggest crime is the cute college girl only appearing like... twice.

I never watched the original UY either. A friend is hosting an original/remake comparison watch, so I may drop in on that. I've seen a lot of people say that they didn't like and that the humour didn't age well. For my part, I like that brand of humour, so the show is scratching an itch that modern shows don't really scratch

Nanachi and Dora the Explorer in Pop Team Epic. This is why I watch this shitpost of a show.

I watched Edgerunners before playing Cyberpunk 2077 and I thought there was no way V could beat David Martinez, but I'm like 30 hours into the game now and I'm pretty sure my V would wreck him in a couple seconds, lol. You can get pretty ridiculous in that game.

Decided to take a step back in time tonight and watch an old anime movie.

Little Nemo Adventures in Dreamland. Released in 1989 in Japan, 1992 in America, initially with deleted scenes that were later restored. Found the full movie with the restored scenes on youtube. I grew up with the NES, not getting the Nintendo 64 for a long time, and never owning a SNES, so I played NES... a lot. And one of the go-to games I would always play was Little Nemo The Dream Master. Of course Little Nemo has been around since the beginning of the 20th century, but I've only ever known the NES game. Figured it was time to finally watch the movie. Definitely gave the feeling of watching a classic disney or ghibli movie. Of course, Miyazaki was involved in the making of the movie, but eventually quit due to
"creative differences" (Read: they fought... a lot.) and the movie was a development and financial disaster.

It was a fun movie that I could see capturing the imagination if I was younger, but it definitely seemed unpolished. Also, although the game was based on the movie, I only saw 2 areas in the movie that became levels in the game, and there were 8 levels. Technically 3 if you count Nightmare world, but nothing in the movie looked like Nightmare world in the game.

Ah well, as a movie it was fun enough. Blogpost over.

A bit of a melancholy moment for me today. Netflix released the newest batch of Pokemon Journeys episodes today, and I decided to watch a couple of episodes before I went to bed. The third episode of this batch turned out to be the very last new anime episode in which we'll ever get to hear the voice of the late Billy Kametz, who tragically passed away from colon cancer in June of this year. He voiced Professor Cerise's assistant Ren, who was the focal character in this episode, and this episode was the last episode of any anime that he had recorded voice work for that had not yet been released yet. Netflix was even kind enough to include an "In Memory of Billy Kametz" end card at the end of the episode before the credits rolled.

Still can't believe he was taken from us so soon. RIP.

Probably not. I already talked about it last week how Sunrise is most likely handling the dub themselves and that dub probably won't start until the subbed version is like a whole cour in. If you want to wait that long for the dub, then that's up to you.

I know I waited that long for the RWBY Ice Queendom dub (which has been pretty good so far).

I tried the first like 6 episodes of To Your Eternity and it was just "Humanity Sucks: The Anime" to me but not as good as something like Devilman Crybaby.
