For all the people that took Amazon (tech/corporate) let me assure you they don't really treat those employees better. I had a friend that worked for them as a software developer and after promoting him to a team lead (for a project that was already troubled) they had him on call 24/7 for three consecutive weeks, by which time he had had a breakdown. They literally expected him to be available to work at any hour of every day until the point he could not actually take it any longer. He was realistically working what amounted to 90+ hour weeks and when he would try to sleep it was typically interrupted. They may have paid him what sounds like a good amount, but they intentionally treated him as disposable and used him until he didn't really have much left to give.

I worked at an Amazon Warehouse and I can say it was an awful job.

Not the worst I've ever had, as I had a lunatic boss who fired me after two weeks once, but still.

I came into this topic expecting the likes of Satan, Cthulhu, and those sorts of things.

Amazon warehouse wasnt as bad fifteen years ago when I worked there, though the signs of what was to come were definitely present when I look back. But at the time it was easily the best of the various warehouse jobs I worked.

Of the lot, I went with Kaiser. My background fits best there (in an administrative position). I can't imagine trying to do a political job, I don't have the experience for most of the rest of those jobs, and McDonald's is pretty grueling without the benefit of a high salary.
