i never got a spam text before, i opened it but didn't click anything so i can block it. it said i joined the chat, anything to be worried about? i blocked it right after, it had a link but didn't click it. sorry this is new to me as i never got phone spam before.

I've been getting a ton of them lately. Used to get a couple a month but in the past week or two I've received over a dozen. All "your PayPal/Amazon/whatever account is locked due to suspicious activity. Click this link to access your account"

But the sender account is clearly fake it's like "[email protected]"

I get about a dozen calls/texts a week for a person named Floyd, who Im confident is not me or my name

this was by a sender with a phone number in my area code.

yeah earlier i got nervous as i check my aol out of habit and in the spam folder it said one that my aol account would be deleted in 3 days, weird sender though.

i just hope i didn't alert them by opening the message itself on the phone.

anything to worry about, i get highly paranoid about this stuff.

I don't think it matters if you look at the message. Just as long as you don't click the link

you have a very strange gimmick

I have gotten a few, as long as you don't click any of the links your fine. Just ignore them and block the numbers.
