That type of story you read that sounds made up so the response is "and everyone called or and that boys name was Albert Einstein"

Worked as a seasonal employee at Walmart garden center as my first job. Was my day on the schedule to water plants. Took hours since it was a "super store" Walmart and the garden center was massive and spanned out to a portion of the parking lot. Had a manager from another department start yelling at me that I hadn't watered anything because the concrete wasn't wet.

It was a hundred plus out that day so I told her the water evaporated and pulled a plant out of its little box thing to show her it was moist. She took me to the office to pull up footage and prove I was a liar. The store manager walked in at the time and asked what was going on so the manager tried saying I wasn't doing my job.

The store manager played the tape and saw that I clearly was and told her she was tired of her bothering other departments and said it was her last warning and fired her.

The next year I worked garden center again between semesters it was mostly the same crew so we were all pretty tight. Turns out they also hired that manager as a seasonal worker as a test run to let her back full time. One morning she came up to me and started verbally attacking me not sure what else to call it she had me in a corner and was shrieking that I hadn't properly "zoned" products the night before.

I told her I didn't work last night and she started poking me in the chest and shrieking louder. Here comes the store manager again and tells her to get the fuck out and not to ever come back even as a customer. She turned back around to me and slashed my face with her nails the cops were called and I pressed charges. In the courtroom she kept screaming I ruined her life and was out to get her and eventually got held in contempt of court.

She ended up getting a few months in jail and had to pay my medical bill (had cut me pretty deep)

Yeh those are the kind of stories I'm looking for or the "I don't work here" as a lady freaks out at the person who doesn't work there.

Not sure which is worse fast food or retail.

Was a breakfast manager at Hardee's was a kids first day and her first job. One of the regular old fucks started calling her slurs for being slow at her first time at the register. He was a miserable dick and always had a problem gravy too runny or eggs cold when we all took special care to make sure that wasn't the case. Threw a soda in his face and told him not to come back. He contacted corporate and our district manager just didn't care because he treated her the same way on her first day like 30 years prior.

It was always packed at breakfast time at least 20 or so regulars in the dining room everyday on top of drive thru being very busy. Corporate was shit and never let us schedule enough people which is how they stayed in business I guess. It was one person doing all of drive thru and one person doing all of front counter and dining room. I'd generally do drive thru as shift leader so it was taking orders, bagging food, making drinks and collecting cash while handing out orders. We got calls daily about drive thru time but they'd never let us schedule more people. Labor was way below where it needed to be we could've had three more people and still be in the green. We just wanted one but nope.

A couple of coworkers had to grab a patient in a swinger club. And as they were loading him in the stretcher, they heard clapping.

But it wasn't from hands, it was from a couple pounding ass >_>

Worked night shift at a gas station in a not great area. Caught someone behind the counter trying to steal lotto tickets while I was in the back getting mop water. Called the cops and he was arrested. A few hours later he was out on bail and attempted to attack me outside, somehow didn't notice I was having a smoke with a cop who was a regular around that time and got his shit tazed

Not exactly to me, but similar vein

A friend of my brother's was the victim of a carjacking in a Walmart parking lot. The attacker had only a hammer as his weapon. The victim was trained in bjj, so he managed to take down the guy and was doing pretty well. Unfortunately, the criminal had his gf there and she picked up the hammer and conked the dude in the head. The two then stole the car and fled the scene.

His head was bleeding pretty good, but he was conscious and able to call 911 for help. The ambulance rushed him to a hospital asap and he was unable to give his statement to the police in a timely manner. He was essentially told to come down to the station once he was able so that the report could be filed. He was overall pretty good but they kept him over night for observation.

The next day he went down to the station and talked to a detective. He gave all of his info and they filed the report. Immediately afterwards they got a hit in the system. The detective knew where his car was and who stole. The couple had driven a state over and hit a semi truck head on. The truck driver was fine bit the couple died on impact

I am famously calm at every job I've had, but one time I exploded into an expletive-laden rant at some girl who was 15 minutes late and then fucked around and ordered food before coming to relieve me.

when I worked at a pizza place, there were many cases where drunk, entitled, rude assholes were speaking to me on the phone in ways that I found unacceptable so I screamed and swore at them and slammed down the phone. Only one actually involved other employees clapping that I can recall. Others, they approved but no one actually clapped. It was a fairly normal, common and mundane occurrence though and literally everyone had done it at one point or another. Even the most composed, proper, by-the-book pushover of a manager angrily told someone to shut up and then hung up on them. I was like "wow... if someone got that kind of reaction from you, he must've really been a dick"

When I first moved back to the city I was like 13 and still had my hair long. Went to the playground in the park, like 5 minutes later this chick maybe a year older than me and a bunch of dudes come up to kick me off the swings.

She starts on me and says I look like a girl. I just got off the swing, looked her dead in the eye while having flashbacks to my dad teasing one of my aunts, then said "at least I look like a girl" and walked past.

She just froze and didn't say shit while all the guys snickered and opened up to let me through. Thoroughly annoying experience, but makes for a nice story. Ugly chicks should be especially careful who they're a shithead to.

Oh i totally missed the word Work in the title, lmao. Don't think I have any from work, usually it's just me and 1 or 2 other people.

Once, in 7th grade, I was in line with my friend (who was also my first crush). Admittedly, while this was a good win for me, I think this truly was a big win for her. Some 8th-grade BOZOS, a guy and a girl, cut in front of us, and she told them to get behind us because we were there first. Eventually, she went in front of them, turned around and told me to cut in front of them so I did. Those mean ol' 8th graders weren't going to let us just do that, though, so the girl sorta pushed my friend back while the guy promptly took care of me. All looked lost, when suddenly a lunch lady comes up to them and tells them to get to the BACK of the line.

It turns out those BOZOS decided to just litter right then and there, and the lunch lady was not having it! JUSTICE FOR ALL 7TH GRADERS!!!

How much Ive wished to do this when I worked in call centers

It was a wild west sort of an environment. That's why I thrived there. I could get away with anything within reason and the managers wouldn't do anything because they set the bar, so they knew anything I was doing, I was just following their example.

One time, some asshole tried to order to a street that didn't exist (he was probably calling from the wrong state, in some town with the same name as ours and just looked up the wrong store). The manager was on the phone with him and tried to explain that, but he called her the c-word so she hung up. She told me to answer if he called back and just pretend to take his order without actually putting any information in. That would get him to fuck off for a while and he would eventually call back to bitch about why it was taking so long and there would be no record of any order, so regardless of who had to deal with him then, they'd just be like "there is no order for you in our system" and he will be starving and his time will have been wasted.

That was the plan, so that's what I did when he called back. I sold it well and I was going to just leave it at that, but then he fucked up and told me "make sure to have that <c word> deliver to me so I can punch her in the face." That set me off, not only just for what he said at face value, but that manager was also a friend of mine and she was one who initially hired me and had always had my back. For some reason we had a bullhorn there and it happened to be under the counter within reach. I just grabbed it, held it up to the phone and screamed "FUCK YOU!" as loud as I could, then slammed down the phone (there were no customers in store). He did not call back again. Manager ask what happened and I was like "he called you a <c word> again and told me he wanted to punch you in the face." We laughed about it.

My unit tries to avoid crazy people. We aren't set up to handle it. Open bay dorms like military style. Doesn't make half of them not stupid as hell though.

Despite overtime being pure hell it's the best job I've had mostly walk and tell people what to do. They don't I do paperwork about it. It gets easier basically cause you gotta establish that you will write them up. Once they know most listen better. Can be stressful as hell at times though.

As far as your friend at jail. Got a CO worker who's done both. Says fights are almost daily in jail. In prison not to much but when shit does happen it tends to be far worse. I've been on shift twice and present for both when a dude got his lip split all thr way up to his nose. One of them had bleeding on the brain too he got beat so bad. Have had 2 this year while I was on shift have orbital bones fractured. One of the captains said one of them was the hands down best beat down he had seen in his near 30 years. Dude clearly was a mma fighter. He never bothered anyone though. Kept to himself. But someone wanted to get in his face and call him q bitch among other things
