Alright this sounds crazy but hear me out.

Gun culture is so heavily ingrained in American culture, trying to get rid of it is gonna piss a lot of people off. So, rather than trying to remove guns from America, what we need is more guns. Make guns a more deeply engrained part of our culture. Make it so that everyone knows how to properly use and care for a firearm. Make it so that owning a gun is so normal, that it's no different than owning a toaster. That's right, make guns so normal that nobody bats an eye at them; turn them into the most basic of tools. Heck, maybe make it so everyone gets a government issued gun much like how Switzerland does it.

All this talk of "Trying to take away our guns" (which isn't a thing that is actually happening) is making crazy people go crazy about guns.

So lets normalize firearm ownership, and expand funding into mental health care and all that.

That's socialism. Real freedom is when an untrained person uses a gun like a toy and accidentally kills a loved one or them self.

So you just want every to be like the South right? because that's what it's like here, sans the "everybody knowing how to proper use one" bit.

Owning a gun should be like owning a car. You have to get a license, which requires a test. You have to demonstrate that you know how to operate a gun safely. Maybe include a mental health evaluation. When you buy a gun it needs to be registered, and perhaps conduct a regular inspection to insure the owner still has it and is maintaining it correctly. Maybe even require liability insurance.

Switzerland is far more strict with gun ownership than America is.
