I highly disagree and wouldn't consider certain choices in your list the best in their series, let alone in some cases good games.
But you have the right to your own opinion.

Pretty great list, a lot of those games were important to me growing up

never played tales of vesperia though.

Having not owned a Nintendo console since the SNES, I haven't played most games on your list.

That being said, the ones on your list I have played are good.

Final Fantasy IX in particular gets a pass because it has a strong beginning but from a narrative standpoint completely collapses 2/3 of the way through the story (and arguably becomes an incoherent mess), while also having a mechanically broken battle system (the ATB gauge is outright broken, it is not programmed to work correctly). It's a testament of how much a mindshare can control a fandom. Also gave Square Enix the first green light that they could do whatever they wanted without reprocussion. It's finally starting to pay them back 20 years later when they highly invested into the NFT scam and are potentially in a position where some of their IPs are going to be bought out.

Tales of Veseperia is a midling entry to the series, with characters that do not play very well (compared to both Symphonia and Abyss as they share the same development team). At the time Team Destiny produced way better games (Destiny DC and Graces f) than Team Symphonia, but in the end when the two teams merged we just got garbage (besides maybe Zestiria which has very fluid combat). Also the story is pretty middling. Also Tales games have aged pretty poorly, especially from that era. Very trope heavy from a story perspective.

I'm not going to get into how everything that's wrong with FFVII:R is what's wrong with modern Square Enix. They do not even create JRPGs anymore, they just create atmospheric action games (and DQXII is going to have the same issue sadly) with RPG mechanics strapped on them (e.g. they strapped an entire turn based battle system onto an action game to please fans after they got negative press they did not expect). The recent rumors that Sony could buy the rights to the series are really interesting as this type of game is what makes Sony successful.

Xenoblade will always be a knockoff of an actual good JRPG series (Xenosaga). "Action JRPG" combat that's not highly tuned like Monster Hunter (or the "good" tales games I guess) is always awful.

Of the ones I've played here, which is most of them, FF 7 remake is the only one I consider to be shit so pretty good list

4. Final Fantasy IX - Great game and 8/10. 5th favorite of the series though, top 25 for sure but not fringing my top 10.

6. Zelda: Ocarina of Time - The only one that we share in our top 10. Second to TP for me in its series but 9/10 and has become one of my most replayed games since the 3DS version.

7. Super Smash Bros. Melee - 6/10 and probably the one thats the furthest from my top 10. A decent game but nothing amazing to me.

8. Pokemon Emerald - 7 maybe. Not in my top 3 gens but a good game. Hard to go wrong with mainline Pokemon but they peak at good not great for me.

9. Final Fantasy 7 Remake - 6 for me. Just beat it last night, i like some of the story changes but hate others and the combat is a downgrade to me. Decent game and far from the worst of the series though.

12. Hollow Knight - 8/10 and possible top 25. Great game though the final pantheon caused it to end on a sour note for me and has butchered my interest in replaying. Will definitely be getting Silksong though.

Ive played Paper Mario but only once and that was close to if not two decades+ ago and i have very minimal recollection of it. And Vesperia is in my backlog, though if its even half as good as Zestiria or Berseria ill be very happy. Havent played the rest and am not interested in changing that. Not a bad list though.

Very solid list. I would put Ultimate, Breath of the Wild, Black/White 2, and The Thousand Year Door over Melee, Ocarina of Time, Emerald, and Paper Mario but they're all great either way

Where is Sonic CD?!

I'd probably rate it poorly, because Halo's about the only one that would be anywhere near my own Top 20, and there's only about four games on your entire list that I consider worth playing at all.

But blah blah subjective and all that.

NGB rings true, better than any DMC game.

5.5/10, for mostly indifference. The one game up there I've played is OoT, which I enjoyed but isn't among my personal Top 15.

Those are the titles that would fall in my top 10 list, so not a bad list overall.

I remain confused about how contentious of a game FFVII:R is. I'm someone who generally hates modern gaming and how bloated and padded everything is, but this title was one of the very rare few that exceeded my expectations. The art direction alone was enough to keep me hooked. The combat was fun, the voice acting was great. The only thing I could even begin to complain about was the changes in the story, but I don't feel like I can properly judge that until it's completed. I'm really not sure how it could have been executed any better while working within the same budget and time constraints.

The general response to this list is indifference as it's mostly games I never played in genres I don't play or choices I don't understand. Like FF9 I fully understand Vesperia or 7 remake? Not so much. Then there are some that I recognize a lot of people agree with but I don't get, like people love Emerald, I never understood the gen 3 love I actively disliked the gen 3 games when they came out and could never bring myself to finish the remakes as an adult. IMO the best pokemon games are heart gold and black 2.

4/10, though I approve of Halo and Pokemon Emerald

I think some of these are generally solid but some I havent played. OoT, HK and Emerald are classics however. 6/10

It probably couldn't have. I have only played the first area, but I knew right away the game wasn't for me because I'm not a fan of those kinds of those kinds of games I'd rather just watch the story synopsis on Youtube.
My bad takes don't make for bad games. My favorite Final Fantasy game is V.

It's 95% nostalgia because the series has been on a slow decline ever since Gen 5. I was not willing to argue because any game prior to X/Y can be considered the best game in the series by someone.
I don't even know what my favorite Pokemon game would be. I don't know how to evaluate that. If it was purely on hours watched, I've seen a solo playthrough of basically every single Gen 1 Pokemon at this point (thanks Jrose).

Not counting wii sports, I don't think I've played a sports game since NFL Blitz / NBA 2K1 on the Dreamcast

Are ones I've at least tried. I think I've only played like 8 PC games in all my life, Halo PC being the one of the reasons reason why Halo is so high

Also I def don't like Sonic CD besides music and animation

i like more of these than i thought i would. wtf at the 7 remake instead of the original though.

4, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 12 are top notch choices!

I wouldn't rate it highly. A lot of the choices are questionable. It's not terrible, though.
