Bloodthirsty people just want to execute everyone that commits a crime.

People have the right to protect themselves from being victimized. If you want to wait and see whether or not the piece of shit robbing you will just take your shit without harming or killing you thats your choice. Robbery is a violent crime, if you commit it youve forfeited your right to protection from reprisal off the person youre assaulting.

People who keep downplaying the situation and acting like the cashier was supposed to be a mind-reading Naruto character just come off extremely sheltered. And people who keep saying it was just for stealing cigs need serious help with their critical thinking skills.

Notice, jokes like COVxy and Tenlaar gotta lie to make their points. How the robber was chased down or how he was only getting cigarettes or how people are just siding with the cashier because of bloodlust, etc etc. Just pure unsupported nonsense.

We know COVxy is from suburban Long Island, which is actually a thing out here in NY. Like people from LI are known to be super ignorant, sheltered and out of touch. I wonder if Tenlaar is the same.

Also, re: the blood thirsty comments There have been plenty of polls done here which show that the majority of CE is anti-corporal punishment/death penalty etc. In this case, you have a rather overwhelming majority agreeing that the stabbing here is justified.

So, it seems fair to say that there are plenty of folks on the side of the cashier here that are not blood thirsty vengeance freaks.

The real question is "would I stab someone robbing me if I had the opportunity and did not know if they would kill me anyway even if I cooperate".

The answer to that is the only real way to answer the OP question imo

I don't like anyone getting stabbed and I feel empathetic when he's running away and still getting stabbed and screaming "nooo" and "I'm dead, I'm dead".

But yeah it's dumb to jump behind the counter, clerk has a right to defend himself, though it looked like he wasn't attacking the clerk and instead getting items.

I say the clerk went to far when he started running after the perp and stabbed him in the spine or neck. That's going to far, and should be aggravated assault.

The store owner immediately called police and got the guy medical attention, so he kind of saved this morons life

He was no threat, Who cares, just let people steal, You shouldnt attack anyone unless you are physically being beaten

Before I watched the video and saw the poll results ITT, I was expecting a scenario where the cashier actively chased down the robber and went into overkill mode when it 100% wasnt necessary. I wasnt expecting at all that the cashier essentially wouldve just let the folks steal the cash jar and walk away, nor that the one jumped over the counter.

The cashier gave them a chance and they couldve both walked away at that point, but all bets were off the second the one jumped the counter.

Dont want to get stabbed/shot by a store owner or employee trying to defend themself, dont try to rob them. Should be as simple as that, end of story.

I'm a combat veteran. I have been out to the world. You don't stab someone running away from you for self defense. That's attempted murder.

He didn't chase the guy out the door and run after him. He started stabbing the guy after he JUMPED OVER THE COUNTER.

For someone whose supposedly trained you have a pretty poor understanding on how to handle an active threat.

Dude said he never saw a weapon on them and that he was able to stay calm in the situation because CoD trained him.
