In the end, it took about 5 hours to get through Multiversus Top 8. That's a fair bit worse than even DBFZ or Smash.

I saw a pic earlier of the rule set for MV and the order of setup and the way it was laid out would definitely slow things down significantly. I dont remember exactly but it was like

-the judge plugs everyones devices in
-player 1 presses start (must be player 1 only)
-judge navigates to the correct menu
-coin flip or RPS to determine who has first pick
-team 1 picks one character
-team 2 picks both characters
-team 1 picks last character
-team 1 picks one characters perks
-team 2 picks all perks
-team 1 picks remaining characters perks
-team 1 strikes a stage
-team 2 strikes a stage
-alternate until only one stage remains
-judge selects the stage and starts the match

after each round they have to do a bunch of that again if anyone wants to change perks or characters

then at the end the judge unplugs everyones devices

Has it really? Maybe it doesn't feel that long since I think he has made Top 8 in Capcom Cup a few times in that time period.

its uh kinda complicated? if it has rollback it works the opposite of how youd want rollback to work. if it has delay then it does something weird that looks like rollbacks sometimes. harada's said several things that make it sound like he doesnt know what rollback is but then says that what he said was mistranslated/misunderstood

I really don't like Street Fighter V but that was an incredible finals. My main used to be Kolin back when I played and I'm glad the game is ended with the character as champ!
